Episode 11 of Flex X Cop starts where we left off, with the manager of the Oryun community calling Gang-hyun for a meet-up and then being killed by men in suits by pushing him down from a building.
Gang-hyun gets a call from Jung-young about a body that was found in Han River, and while checking the body, she sees a tattoo that reminds her of a case her father was working on.
In a flashback, Gang-hyun remembers walking into her father’s office when he was still a police officer and found him looking into a case about mass suicide in a hotel room. The pictures of the victims pinned on his board all had a tattoo similar to the one on the body found in Han River.
Consequently, the same case got her father suspended on suspicion of receiving bribes. Gang-hyun tells Jun-young that she saw an Oryun Community tattoo on her body.
Gang-hyun and Jun-young visit the family of the deceased, and while his mother says that he joined a meditation centre, the sister believes that it is a false religion, luring students into the meditation centres to indoctrinate them.
The brother borrowed money from loan sharks using the mother and sister’s names to afford the money required to settle in the meditation centres. Elsewhere, I-soo decides to stop looking into the reasons why his mother committed suicide and promises her to live up to the name she gave him by becoming someone who helps those in need.
Meanwhile, Gang-hyun and Jun-young find out exciting information about the deceased. He was a surviving swimming instructor who swam across the Han River four times. Therefore, the sister thinks that her brother cannot drown in Han River unless he is drugged or something else happens.
While the mother is against the autopsy since the brother would be against it, the sister gives the detectives her authorization to perform an autopsy.
On the other hand, Team 2 is on the case of the manager pushed from a building, and they find a suicide letter beside him. The team leader recognizes Gang-hyun’s phone number on the recent call list and reports it to Chief Park.
Gang-hyun is called into the office, and the Captain walks in while Chief Park and Team 2 leader question Gang-hyun about the calls. Seemingly, the Captain is already aware of the case, which is suspicious, but when Gang-hyun asks him about it, he puts her on probation for two weeks. Moreover, he directs Team 2 to wrap up the investigation, reporting it as murder and not to share any information with Gang-hyun.
Regardless, the Team 2 leader finds a way to share the investigation report with gang-hyun subtly. Although she does not tell the rest of the team members, other than Jun-young, the reason for her probation, Gang-hyun quickly finds out from the Captain that it is related to her father’s old case.
Gang-hyun visits the manager’s wife after leaving the police station, but knowing who she is, she refuses to share any information about her husband and also refuses to agree to an autopsy. Later, Gang-hyun tells her parents that she has taken some days off and will be taking a trip to spend some days at a meditation centre.
While she goes through her father’s report on the mass suicide case, I-soo finds an online video of her father’s arrest and asks his assistant to look into the Oryun Community. He finds Gang-hyun at her thinking place and promises to stay by her side if she decides to fight since he knows she trusts her father and will trust her.
The following day, Gang-hyun leaves for the mediation temple while Jun-young and I-soo continue to investigate the drowning case. Ji-won thinks the case is puzzling because even though she can tell that the victim drowned, she does not know how he drowned.
After all, the results show that he did not drown in the river. I-soo notices the tattoo emblem of the Oryun Community, and Jun-young wonders how he knew about it. I-soo tells him that he found out independently since they refuse to share information with him.
On the way back, I-soo swears that he will solve the case and help restore honor to Gang-hyun’s father, whether Jun-young agrees to help him. The two cases under investigation by Team 1 and Team 2 relate to Oryun Community. Seong-wook is a manager and a vital community member, while Dong-su is the manager of the GY Meditation Center, which recruits Oryun’s new believers.
I-soo deciphers a hidden message in Seong-wook’s suicide note pleading with the police to carry out an autopsy. However, his wife is a member of the Oryun Community, and their first belief is that the body should not be cut with a knife, so she refuses to authorize an autopsy. Later, Jeong-hun updates I-so on his findings about the Oryun community, and he asks for a favor, such as meeting up with the founder, Bori.
Coincidentally, I-soo and Gang-hyuk arrive at the GY Meditation Center at the same time, but while Gang-hyuk is undercover, I-soo announces he is the police and asks to talk with Bori who starts telling his life story and his belief that he has lived five other lives and his discovery about life and death.
He says that he founded the community to encourage people by telling them they will be reborn after death and says that most people misunderstand him and decide to commit suicide. He tells I-soo about his mother’s suicide and says that she is living her next life and offers to offer him a place to stay to process the new realization.
Meanwhile, Gang-hyuk goes through rehabilitation, but one of the counsellors seems suspicious of her. She asks questions about Dong-su, and the members inform her that he was called to see Bori a few days back, but he never returned, and his things are still in his room.
Later, after a ceremony of lighting wish balloons, the participants are given some tea to help them sleep. Gang-hyun does not swallow it, and after she tests the residue on her handkerchief, she finds out that the tea is drugged.
After questioning her roommate, she finds out that the organization scams money from desperate people by asking them to make an offering to get an answer from Bori. They keep returning and borrowing more money since they believe Bori has the answer to their miseries, and eventually, they drown in debt.
Later that night, after Bori leaves his office, Gang-hyun sneaks out of her room and snoops around the office, placing a spy camera when she runs into I-soo. Meanwhile, Bori meets with the police captain, and he updates him that Seong-wook’s death will be wrapped up as a suicide.
About I-soo, Bori tells the Captain that he threw him a stone, referring to telling him about his mother and asking him to stay at the community centre. The Captain knows Bori can easily care for an immature, wealthy son.
Back in the dorms, the counsellor, suspicious of Gang-hyun, checks her room and is not shocked to see that she is not asleep like the rest of the recruits. Gang-hyun updates I-soo on what she found out while bringing her up to speed on their investigation. At the end of the episode, Gang-hyun and I-soo hear someone coming down the stairs towards the office, stunned and with nowhere to hide.
The episode drastically changes the narrative and the pace, suspense, and mysteries in the series. It introduces an entertaining and thrilling aspect to the cases since they involve Gang-hyun’s personal life and hints at the possibility of being tied to the case of I-soo’s mother.
The entrenching suspense will constantly push the audience to the edge and end in a cliffhanger. Did Bori get to I-soo, or did I-soo fool him into thinking he believed him? I guess I-soo has managed to successfully mask his potential by leading people like the Captain to believe he is immature.
Therefore, it is highly likely that Bori fell into I-soo’s trap. Who comes into the office at the end of the episode? Is the Captain involved in the false accusations made against Gang-hyun’s father? Let us find out in the next Episode of Flex X Cop.
