Flex X Cop Episode 14 Recap

I-soo arrests Seung-ju and interrogates him while Joon-young and Kang-hyun interrogate Hyeonbae. The women who was found in the car’s trunk, Ms. Miyeon is sent to the hospital to regain consciousness. During the interrogation, Seung-ju doesn’t tell any detail to I-soo. Meanwhile, Hyeonbae acts arrogantly as they haven’t found the murder weapon and any solid evidence against him.

When Seung-ju’s attorney’s arrive, the senior officer and Kang-hyun speak with Seung-ju, who then reveals the truth about how he met Daehoon at the publication party and how he started to threaten his mother Heeja. Seung-ju says that Daehoon blackmailed and received a lot of money from his mother as he had a proof of his mother’s old affair. This news shocks I-soo. Seung-ju confirms that he has nothing to do with the murder and didn’t arrange the assassination. Seung-ju is then released as he is mentioned as a witness and not a suspect.

Hyeonbae’s attorney arrives and they have a discussion. Startled by the revelation, I-soo decides to find the real truth so that he can save his family members’ reputation. Joon-young speaks with Miyeon who says that it is she who introduced Heeja to her boyfriend. She also reveals that she met with Hyeonbae and asked him to threaten Daehoon however they became greedy and murdered him so they can use the information he has to get more money from Heeja.

Joon-young learns that the main killer is not Hyeonbae but his younger brother Hyeontae. However he flees to philippines, making it hard for the cops to find him. Hyeonbae confesses that he is the killer and also gives them the murder weapon. The case gets closed however the cops aren’t satisfied since they know the other killer is still outside and the person who ordered them to kill Daehoon is still unidentified.

Seung-ju meets up with his mother who is hospitalised due to shock. He confronts her revealing that he knows who Daehoon is and that it is her who ordered the killing. Apparently, Daehoon is the biological father of Seung-ju and to help her son become the chairman of the Hansu group she arranged the men to kill Daehoon. Daehoon simply used his DNA results to get money from Heeja.

I-soo also learns about this truth through Daehoon’s photocopies of Seung-ju when he was young. I-soo meets Heeja at the hospital and tells her that he will arrest her for the crime but she begs him to not to and to think of Seung-ju. I-soo’s father who is also aware of Daehoon and his relation with Seung-ju, arranges a press meet and announces that he’s stepping back from the mayor candidacy.

I-soo gives his resignation letter to Kang-hyun as he’s unable to let go of his family’s name. At his home, he finds a broken staircase and reminisces his childhood. He then starts to remember about the sleeping pill which he hid from his mother. He wonders then how his mother died out of sleeping pill overdose. I-soo realises that something’s wrong and visits his father at his guesthouse.

Over there he interrogates him about his mother’s death and the real reason behind erasing his memory. The scene then cuts to I-soo leaving the place and his father passing away in his chair.

Flex X Cop Episode 14 Review

Alright, so the main villain is Heeja. Apparently it is her who has killed I-soo’s mother so she could live happily as a rich woman and also make her son the chairman of Hansu Group. These revelations will be out in detail in the upcoming final episodes. So finally the real face of Seung-ju will also be revaled. Will he save his mother or will he realise that it is time to let his mother pay for her sinful actions? We will see!

The series is really good but I wish the last two episodes will give a proper conclusion and not rush the story’s end. Because all the different crime cases built the main story well and good. If they rush it and make the show end on a simple note, it’s going to spoil the reputation the series has earned so far. Moreover, no romance has bloomed between Kang-hyun and I-soo yet, and that’s a shame.
