Doctor Slump (2024) K Drama Episode 16 with Park Shin Hye and Park Hyung Shik (Final Episode)

With Ha-neul getting her job back, Wol-seon hits back against her relatives hard who have been talking badly about her daughter. Meanwhile, everything finally seems to be settling down as everyone, including Ba-da, moves on with their lives. Ba-da soon surprises everyone with his newfound passion for work which makes his family emotional.

However, Jeong-woo breaks the trance with his late arrival, making him unaware that it was Ba-da who cooked the noodles he had just criticised. He is surprised by this and is happy to see Ba-da making an effort. He then asks Ha-neul about her reply to his proposal but she puts it off by reminding them of their distractiong the other day.

Later, Ba-da gets paid by his uncle which makes him excited and he takes Ha-neul for a meal. The next day, Jeong-woo asks Dae-young about the same which puts him into confusion whether the latter had been right about his haste. Jeong-woo then gets a call from Ha-neul who invites him to dinner at a fancy place near Han River.

Jeong-woo is excited by this and is sure that Ha-neul is going to give him a positive reply. Later that night, Jeong-woo excitedly greets Ha-neul who tells him that she had intended to reply to his proposal but instead needs to discuss something else now. She tells him of the offer to go abroad by her senior which is beneficial for her career.

Jeong-woo is shocked by this but supports her in going, however, his actions show something else which Ha-neul is not sure about. We later see Jeong-woo showing his dissatisfaction with the timings, alone in his room, as he is reluctant to let go of Ha-neul. The next day, Dae-young sees his low mood and asks him about the same.

Right then, a dissatisfied customer arrives and screams at Dae-young which is seen by Hong-ran, as she interferes and saves him. Dae-young is saddened by how he promised to protect Hong-ran but was instead protected by her. Right then, Nurse Do arrives to give her resignation letter as she expresses her wish to travel.

Dae-young discusses the same with Jeong-woo and how he let go of Nurse Do as the sparkle in her eyes to fulfil her wish didn’t let him hold on to her. Jeong-woo understands his words and later shows his support for Ha-neul’s decision. Ha-neul is happy about this and the two speak about how dearly they will miss each other.

However, Ha-neul is told that someone else will be going in her place the next day. This makes her dissatisfied, but what makes the situation worse is that Jeong-woo begins treating her to dates before she has to leave. Ha-neul doesn’t get a chance to clear this misunderstanding and the situation further escalates to her family also becoming a part of this mess.

Suddenly, Jeong-woo reads a message on Ha-neul’s phone and realises what has happened. He interrupts the farewell party and the event comes to an end. Jeong-woo then apologises to Ha-neul who tells him about how she did not hold her dissatisfaction inside but expressed it out loud. She is happy with the change that has happened and expresses it in front of him.

She then asks about the dates Jeong-woo was talking about and expresses her wish to experience all of them. Jeong-woo is ready to take her to all the places he had planned to go to and the two begin a new journey together. Soon, Ha-neul visits her psychiatrist who gives her the test she had taken the first time she came to him.

Seeing her answers change one by one as she remembers the time spent with Jeong-woo makes her realise how she has gotten through her slump. The doctor soon interprets her answers and gives her the conclusion that she no longer has to return to him, thus, ending her slump.

Elsewhere, Dae-young spends time with Hong-ran and her son. He confesses feeling bad about not being able to show his stronger side to her at all times and she tells him that she likes him the way he is. She then asks about how he has been able to hold up after letting go of Nurse Do and Jeong-woo and he tells her that it was needed as they both had a path to follow.

Doctor Slump Episode 16 Ending

Meanwhile, Jeong-woo once again opens his clinic but this time he keeps it small and simple. He tells Ha-neul that he will make sure to not burden himself with too much work. Soon, things begin to settle down for everyone as Ba-da takes Wol-seon out shopping while Tae-seon reunites with his first love.

As Jeong-woo and Ha-neul sit in his empty clinic, Ha-neul is reminded of the time when she visited his previous clinic and how they decided to see the sunrise. The two laugh at the cloudy weather they face and decide to go see the sunrise again. This time, they see the sunrise which reminds them that they have finally made it out of their slumps and this was done together.

Jeong-woo once again asks for a reply to his proposal and Ha-neul gives him the answer he had been waiting for. Reminding themselves that they can be happy one day and sad on another, they will still be fine because they now have each other.

Doctor Slump Episode 16 Review

The finale is finally here and the Kdrama has given us the ending that is most suitable for the Jeong-Ha couple that remains playful and therapeutic right until the end. The show has given us some beautiful and motivating scenes along with a couple that brought us this vibe in the best way possible.

This episode showed some more sides of the couple along with an unexpected romance for Tae-seon, but it also brought in the growth that every character is still going through, reminding us that there is no end to one’s growth. With this, the neverending story of the Jeong-Ha couple and those around them continues while telling us that this is not the end but a new beginning.
