tvN’s upcoming drama “Family” has dropped a new teaser!
tvN’s “Family” tells the story of a National Intelligence Service (NIS) black agent husband who is undercover as an ordinary office worker and a sweet but fierce wife who dreams of having a perfect family. The drama is helmed by executive producer Jang Jung Do, whose hit works include “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim,” “The Crowned Clown,” “Our Blues,” “Alchemy of Souls,” and more. In addition to being Jang Hyuk and Jang Nara’s fourth project together, “Family” is their first collaboration in nine years.
Jang Nara will be playing Kang Yu Ra, a housekeeping expert and Kwon Do Hoon’s dedicated wife who works to protect the perfect family of her dreams while hiding a secret behind her lovable nature. Jang Hyuk will be starring as Kwon Do Hoon, Kang Yu Ra’s husband who is an NIS black agent disguised as a trading company employee.
The newly released teaser introduces Kang Yu Ra as the indisputable boss of their home and the one with the ultimate highest position in the family hierarchy. Kang Yu Ra has a strong hold on her family, especially her husband. Despite being a highly skillful and intimidating agent at work, Kwon Do Hoon’s charisma is nowhere to be found when he’s with his wife. In one scene, the duo brings laughter when Kang Yu Ra can be seen effortlessly handling Kwon Do Hoon with merely her words. During their phone call, Kang Yu Ra charismatically says, “I’ll give you one minute. Make it up to me.” Kwon Do Hoon’s desperate reply gives viewers a hint to their dynamic as he says, “I’m already on my knees! I’ve been on my knees for a while now!”
In the next scene, Kang Yu Ra is glaring daggers at Oh Chun Ryun (Chae Jung An), a professional NIS operator who is also Kwon Do Hoon’s marksman. Her next dialogue raises curiosity about their encounter as she remarks, “From the moment I saw you, I already didn’t like you.”
The trailer further gives a glimpse into Kang Yu Ra’s busy daily life of being the backbone and glue that binds the family together. She shows extraordinary parenting skills when she’s dealing with her 8-year-old daughter Kwon Min Seo (Shin Soo Ah) throwing a tantrum, as well as natural charisma when she lifts up the mood and spirit of the entire family during her father-in-law Kwon Woong Soo (Lee Soon Jae)’s 80th birthday.
