JTBC’s “Doctor Slump” has unveiled a sneak peek of Lee Sung Kyung’s upcoming cameo appearance!
“Doctor Slump” is a romantic comedy about two former rivals who reunite and unexpectedly become each other’s light during the darkest period of their lives. Park Hyung Sik plays Yeo Jung Woo, a star plastic surgeon whose thriving career suddenly falls into danger due to a strange medical accident, while Park Shin Hye plays Nam Ha Neul, a workaholic anesthesiologist suffering from burnout syndrome.
In the next episode of the drama, Lee Sung Kyung will be making a special appearance as Yeo Jung Woo and Nam Ha Neul’s former high school classmate.
Newly released stills from the episode capture Lee Sung Kyung’s character during her high school days, wearing a uniform as she shyly strikes up a conversation with Yeo Jung Woo.
14 years later, Lee Sung Kyung’s character happens to run into Yeo Jung Woo and Nam Ha Neul, and she couldn’t be more excited to see the guy she used to have feelings for as a teenager. Whether boldly grabbing Yeo Jung Woo’s hand or giggling in delight at a café, she is clearly thrilled by this unplanned encounter with her past crush.
Nam Ha Neul, on the other hand, looks significantly less pleased about this unexpected run-in. As the three of them catch up over coffee, Nam Ha Neul has her arms crossed as she stares coldly at her former classmate-turned-romantic rival.
Lee Sung Kyung’s cameo appearance was the result of a request by director Oh Hyun Jong, who previously worked with the actress on the hit drama “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo.”
“Once again, we would like to thank Lee Sung Kyung, who readily agreed to making a special appearance,” said the “Doctor Slump” production team. “Because she’d also worked with both Park Hyung Sik and Park Shin Hye before, she made the atmosphere on set even more fun and delightful. Although her appearance is brief, she will have a powerful presence that goes beyond the typical cameo.”
To catch Lee Sung Kyung’s cameo, tune in to the next episode of “Doctor Slump” on February 11 at 10:30 p.m. KST!
