MBC has released an exciting highlight clip for their upcoming drama “Tomorrow”!
“Tomorrow” is based on a webtoon of the same name and tells the story of Choi Joon Woong (SF9’s Rowoon), who gets into an unfortunate accident while struggling to find a job. As a result, he crosses paths with grim reapers Goo Ryun (Kim Hee Sun) and Lim Ryoong Goo (Yoon Ji On), who work together to save the lives of those who are contemplating suicide, and he winds up joining their team in the underworld as their youngest member.
The new highlight video gives viewers a closer look at Joomadeung (phantasmagoria), the spirit management headquarters of the afterlife monopoly where the trio work.
At the start of the clip, Goo Ryun comments, “Every human gets placed at a crossroads.” As Choi Joon Woong is shown going through a tough time in his life, Goo Ryun adds, “And responsibility comes with every choice.” After she saves Choi Joon Woong’s life, he asks, “Who are you?” She calmly answers, “The person who has come to save you. The grim reaper.”
At the hospital, Choi Joon Woong wakes up disoriented and is frightened to see Goo Ryun waiting in his room. He worriedly asks, “Have I died? Am I dying soon? Are you going to kill me soon? After calling my name three times?” Annoyed, Goo Ryun replies, “You’re not dead!” She explains, “You’ve fallen into an unexpected coma and you’ll wake up in three years. Let’s go.”
Goo Ryun then takes Choi Joon Woong to Joomadeung to work with the video team, also known as the place with the best working environment. At Joomadeung, we’re introduced to Park Joong Gil (Lee Soo Hyuk), the team leader of the elite Guiding Management Team. Lastly, Choi Joon Woong meets the Crisis Management team and learns that their goal is to save lives.
Despite this goal, Park Joong Gil insists that suicide rates have not gone down. Goo Ryun firmly responds, “It’s because we are lacking team members.” That’s how Goo Ryun takes Choi Joon Woong onto her team, finally giving him a job – but in the afterlife.
Choi Joon Woong is then shown fully dedicating himself to the job, working tirelessly to do anything and everything to save those who are contemplating suicide.
After the highlight clip is a short behind-the-scenes video of the cast introducing their characters. Kim Hee Sun shares, “I see Goo Ryun as the tsundere type. She appears cold and distant, but she’s thoughtful.” Rowoon continues, “The character of Choi Joon Woong has lived very diligently and is very ordinary. He’s sure about what he thinks is good and bad and he acts on those through his actions, not just his words. He’s an incredibly passionate character.”
Lee Soo Hyuk shares, “I imagined a lot while reading the script but it feels new now that I’m in my costume with my hair and makeup.” Yoon Ji On comments, “I’m starting our filming really happily because I get to work with such good people.”
“Tomorrow” will premiere this March. Catch the full video here!
