“The Outlaws 3” (also known as “The Roundup: No Way Out”) is enjoying an incredible opening weekend at the Korean box office!
According to the Korean Film Council, as of June 4 at 12 p.m. KST—less than five days after its release—”The Outlaws 3″ had already racked up an impressive total of 4,003,688 moviegoers.
Not only did “The Outlaws 3” manage to reach the milestone faster than either of its prequels, but it is also the first Korean film to surpass 4 million moviegoers since last year’s “Confidential Assigment 2: The International.”
Notably, “The Outlaws 3” drew a staggering total of 1,162,598 moviegoers on June 3 alone, breaking the opening Saturday sales record of both “The Outlaws 2” (1,037,004) and the award-winning hit “Parasite” (1,126,677).
With this figure, “The Outlaws 3” has achieved the fourth-biggest single day at the box office for a Korean film released during the summer vacation season—bested only by “The Admiral: Roaring Currents,” “Along with the Gods: The Last 49 Days,” and “Train to Busan.”
Star Ma Dong Seok personally thanked audiences on behalf of the cast and crew by saying, “Thank you. This is all thanks to the 4 million moviegoers who went to see ‘The Outlaws 3.'”
Congratulations to the cast and crew!
