Veeraporn Nitiprapha is an acclaimed novelist born in Bangkok, Thailand. Her debut novel, "The Blind Earthworms in the Labyrinth" (ไส้เดือนตาบอดในเขาวงกต), won the prestigious Southeast Asian Writers Award in 2015. In October 2018, her second novel, "The Twilight Years and the Memory of a Black Cat" (พุทธศักราชอัสดงกับทรงจำของทรงจำของแมวกุหลาบดำ) won the SEA Write Award for the second time, making her the first female writer to do so.
Veeraporn began writing and publishing poems and short stories at seventeen. After studying communication arts for a time in Melbourne, Australia, she returned to Bangkok and began her career as an editor for a fashion magazine, transitioning to an advertising copywriter and later a creative director before eventually leaving the advertising industry and starting a jewellery brand she ran for over a decade. She now works fulltime as a writer and runs a writing workshop.
