Lee Min Ho is a South Korean actor, singer, and model currently represented by MYM Entertainment. Lee started to act in his second year of high school, and by his senior year, had joined Starhaus Entertainment. Once trained, Lee landed small roles in several television dramas.
Early on in his career, Lee used his stage name, Lee Min, since his agency found his birth name too ordinary. However, since it was pronounced and written the same as the Korean word for 'immigration', and made him difficult to search on the internet, he reverted to his birth name.
His breakthrough role, and the one he is best known for, came in 2009 when he was cast as the lead, Gu Jun Pyo, in 'Boys Over Flowers'. In 2021, he is set to star in the Apple TV+ drama, ´Pachinko’. He had to audition for the first time in 13 years for the role.
Lee began his mandatory military service on May 12, 2017, and was discharged on April 25, 2019. In August 2006, Lee sustained injuries in a serious car accident while riding with actor Jung Il Woo, who was badly injured in the accident.
In 2020, Lee was cast in Apple TV's US series Pachinko, based on the novel of the same name by Min Jin Lee. The series premiered in March 2022.
