Ji Hyun Woo is a South Korean actor and musician. He is also musically talented as his father wanted both him and his brother Ji Hyun Soo (stage name Yoon Chae) to become music stars, forcing them to practice guitar (Ji Hyun Woo) and piano (his brother) for 8 hours each day. He graduated with a bachelor's degree from the Department of Performing Arts at Sungkyunkwan University.
He was the youngest to pass the actor's 20th KBS Open Recruitment, making his official debut in 2003 with small roles in two series. In 2002, he joined the band "Moonchild" for their second album as a session guitarist and in 2004, he formed the band The Nuts all while performing in musicals ("Grease") and in TV series. He began gaining popularity in 2004 for his performance in bigger roles in "Old Miss Diary" and "You Will Know". He released his first solo single "Crescendo" in 2011 and later became a host of the show "Invincible Youth".
Following his return from the mandatory military service, he resumed his acting career and in 2019 signed with Lion Heart Entertainment, a company that allows him to pursue both his acting and musical careers. In 2020, he became a member of the band "SGO" alongside his older brother who was part of the band N.EX.T until 2014.
He enlisted in the military in August 2012 for his mandatory military service and played the lead role in the military musical "The Promise" before being discharged in May 2014.
In 2021, he won the Grand Prize (Daesang) at the 2021 KBS Drama Awards for his role in the series"Young Lady and Gentleman".
