Episode 6 of Queen of Tears begins with the footage of the hunting trip being restored. And who’s the culprit? Cheon Da-hye! She got recorded while compromising the hunting track.
Da-hye appears with Eun-seong and they search Hyun-woo’s house. While searching his room, Eun-seong finds a locked safe and gets suspicious. It’s also revealed that Da-hye is a fake and she got married to Soo-cheol to carry out Eun-seong’s plan. She’s also 5 years older than Soo-cheol. It seems this plan has been in effect for many years now.
It’s also revealed that Hyun-woo’s secretary is on Eun-seong’s side as Grace Go makes him call Hye-in’s secretary to know the reason behind their trip to Germany.
While all this is going on, Hae-in and Hyun-woo reconcile. They prepare to eat some instant ramen, and Hae-in tells Hyun-woo about her wishes regarding the funeral. She also explains to him the reason behind her will and his exclusion from it; her mother made her write her will and she did it so that she could get married to Hyun-woo.
Meanwhile, Hae-in’s mother is getting a century old ginseng ready for Soo-cheol since he is “weak”. Beom-ja throws a tantrum about not sharing it with Hae-in since she’s the only one who knows about Hae-in’s condition apart from Hyun-woo. She visits Hae-in’s father who is tending to his terminally-ill pet snail and breaks down.
Meanwhile, Hyun-woo and Hae-in are in their hotel room in Germany. Hyun-woo asks Hae-in if he could start sleeping in the same room as her and she agrees. Later, she expresses how great of a husband Hyun-woo is for not being greedy like others over inheritance and Hyun-woo feels awkward listening to the exact things he was doing.
The next day, Hyun-woo prays in the church. Later in the day, Hae-in receives an email from the research center about a possible therapy method. It’s revealed that Hyun-woo was the one who threatened legal action against the research centre which made the head doctor take this decision.
At the spa, Grace scolds Da-hye for being careless and getting captured at the hunting site. Grace later manipulates Hae-in’s mother into thinking that Hyun-woo is intentionally making things difficult for Soo-cheol as a revenge for not being included in Hae-in’s will.
While Soo-cheol tries to convince his grandfather about the project, Da-hye reminisces about her first interaction with Soo-cheol. It’s revealed that Da-hye was in the same orphanage as Eun-seong and she met Soo-cheol there. She proposed marriage to him after knowing he’s from a rich family but he refuses and leaves.
Later, when the family is sitting for their meal, Beom-ja comments that Soo-cheol’s son doesn’t look like him at all. They ask Grace if they’ve had the DNA test done on the child and Grace affirms it. Soo-cheol gets offended by this attack on his wife and son and leaves with them. He later apologises to Da-hye for being weak.
Meanwhile, Yongdu-ri is thronging with visitors due to Hae-in’s visit. Du Gwan feels happy that he is sure to win the village head elections but he finds that his opponent smartly offered Hae-in an apple which was recorded in the viral video. And so, Yongdu-ri is now been associated with apples and not pears.
At the train station in Germany, a woman tries to strike up a conversation with Hyun-woo but Hae-in makes her leave. They then talk about their first love, making each other feel jealous. Hae-in reveals that she met her first love on a bus ride.
Back at the Hong residence, it seems that some repairmen are in to repair the CCTV cameras. Grace makes one of them open the locked box in Hyun-woo’s room and finds the divorce papers.
Meanwhile, Hyun-woo and Hae-in try to find the love lock that they put in a bridge but are unable to find it. They tour different places and eat. Hae-in buys a four leaf clover meant to give good luck for a year since more than anything, she wants time.
Hae-in and Hyun-woo visit the research centre for Hae-in’s therapy shot but Hae-in hallucinates about her dead brother and gets lost outside the hospital. Hyun-woo looks for her and finally does catch up to her. Hae-in reveals that as kids, she and her brother got entangled in a mysterious accident at sea. Her brother saved his life but drowned himself and from that day, her mother couldn’t forgive her for his death.
Eun-seong gifts the painting to the chairman, earning his goodwill. Later, the chairman gets to know about his book-keepers’ embezzlement and rightly assumes that he is going to get directly attacked. A whistleblower told the prosecution about it as well and the chairman believes it to be someone close to him.
While he is telling this to Seul-hee, they discover a wiretapping device. The signal leads them to Hyun-woo’s room, hinting that Hyun-woo was the whistleblower. They forcefully open the safe and discover the divorce papers as well. It’s a complete mess.
Hae-in’s mother calls Hae-in to tell her but Hae-in rightly assumes that its a deliberate and unfair attack. She shuts her phone and later, does the same for Hyun-woo.
Elsewhere, Beom-ja discovers that Seul-hee is a fraud. She had assumed a different name. Her real name is Oh Sun-yeong who is dead in the official papers since 30 years. She has also been to the prison for adultery and delivered a child in the prison.
Hae-in and Hyun-woo are on an evening walk. The therapy results are to come the next day. She says that she needs all the luck so Hyun-woo runs all the way to buy every four-leafed clover charm and makes a bouquet out of them. He also finds their love lock on the way back.
Just as he is about to reach Hae-in, she receives a text from her mother with a picture of the divorce agreement and her world shatters. She asks Hyun-woo to refute this but he cannot.
In the epilogue, we discover that Hae-in first love was Hyun-woo all along. She followed his bus in her car the day he confessed to her.
The Episode Review
This episode was so exciting! So many hidden secrets were unravelled in a single episode, it feels like a ride to an adventure park but with 500% more distress and conspiracies. Who knew that Eun-seong has his reach everywhere. Da-hye’s involvement was a complete surprise. And Seul-hee might just be Eun-seong’s mother.
It seems like moles planted by him are the ones breaking the Hong family apart. And now, he has succeeded in attacking Hyun-woo, their only sensible link. On top of this, we are curious about how Hae-in will respond towards the divorce agreement; it’s already heartbreaking to see her shocked and hurt at the same time.
The show now feels like a 1:1 war. If you are aware about an ongoing kdrama called The Impossible Heir, Queen of Tears feels like a flip of Impossible Heir but so, so much better!
