Circle Chart (formerly known as Gaon Chart) has announced its latest batch of official certifications!
In 2018, the Korea Music Content Industry Association implemented a new certification system for album sales, song downloads, and online streaming. Starting with music released on or after January 1, 2018, Circle Chart now certifies albums platinum once they reach 250,000 sales, while albums that have sold a million copies or more receive a “million” certification.
On September 7, NCT DREAM earned three separate Circle certifications for their latest album “ISTJ.” First, Circle Chart awarded NCT DREAM their first triple million certification for the regular version of the album, which has sold over 3 million copies since its release in July.
Additionally, the Nemo version of the album earned a separate double platinum certification for selling over 500,000 copies, while the SMC version of the album was certified platinum for over 250,000 copies sold.
Meanwhile, NewJeans received two separate certifications for their latest mini album “Get Up.” The regular version of the album earned a million certification, while the Weverse version was certified platinum.
NewJeans also earned an official million certification for their debut mini album “New Jeans,” which was first released in August of last year.
Just like NewJeans, EXO was awarded two separate certifications for their latest album “EXIST.” The regular version of the album earned an official million certification, and the SMC version of the album was certified platinum.
TREASURE’s latest album “REBOOT,” ZEROBASEONE’s debut mini album “YOUTH IN THE SHADE,” and (G)I-DLE’s latest mini album “I feel” all similarly received official million certifications for over 1 million copies sold.
Meanwhile, NMIXX earned a triple platinum certification for their latest single album “A Midsummer NMIXX’s Dream,” which has sold over 750,000 copies since its release in July.
SEVENTEEN earned a double platinum certification for their 2018 mini album “YOU MAKE MY DAY,” which has now sold over 500,000 copies since its release in July 2018.
P1Harmony’s “HARMONY : ALL IN” was also certified platinum after selling 250,000 copies since its release in June.
Over in the streaming category, Paul Kim’s beloved ballad “Me After You” was certified triple platinum after surpassing 300 million streams.
Meanwhile, PSY’s “That That” (produced by and featuring BTS’ Suga) and KyoungSeo’s “Dear my X” were both certified platinum for reaching 100 million streams each.
