BTS’s V has already made Hanteo history with his solo debut!
On September 8 at 1 p.m. KST, V made his official solo debut with his first solo album “Layover” and its beautiful title track “Slow Dancing.”
The following day, Hanteo Chart announced that “Layover” had sold an amazing total of 1,672,138 copies on September 8 alone, breaking the record for the highest first-day sales of any solo album in Hanteo history.
Not only has V achieved the highest first-day sales of any soloist to date, but he is also only the third solo artist in Hanteo history to sell over a million copies of an album on the first day of its release. The only other soloists ever to hit the 1 million mark within one day are his bandmates Jimin and Suga, the latter of whom held the previous record for the highest first-day sales by a solo artist (for his album “D-DAY”).
Even including groups, V has now become the artist with the fifth-highest first-day sales overall, bested only by SEVENTEEN, his own group BTS, Stray Kids, and TXT.
Congratulations to V on his impressive new record!
