Live Your Own Life episode 17 begins with Hyo-sim hastily making her way home after finishing the ramp walk. Following this, she pays her respects at her father’s memorial service, which is hosted by her mother. They are accompanied by her three brothers, Hyo-do, Hyo-joon, and Hyo-sung.
The memorial service is the final straw that causes Sun-soon to break down. Additionally, the siblings fight about their career paths and not supporting their mother. After everyone starts pointing fingers, Hyo-sim finally leaves and sobs on the terrace.
In the meantime, Tae-min and Tae-ho cross paths in their house’s yard. He then confronts Tae-ho about not speaking with him before making Hyo-sim walk the ramp. Following this, Tae-ho tells him that he doesn’t need his permission to make decisions regarding his department and his trainer.
Following the memorial service, we now get a look at the siblings. In his dorm room, Hyo-joon sobs after being accused of being responsible for his mother’s latest tantrum. Mi-rim feels bad for him after she overhears him sobbing.
Hyo-do shows up drunk to the store he and Tae-hee just opened. With that, he withdraws from the business. In addition, the day after, he writes a message to her in their shared flat, asking her to look after herself, and he leaves. After receiving the watch from her, he attempts to sell it so he can start his own business.
At the TS Fitness Gym, Hyo-sim is seen training Tae-ho. Tae-min is clearly absent from the training session, which Soo-kyung has also noticed. Furthermore, she grows increasingly resentful when she witnesses Hyo-sim’s closeness with Tae-ho during the workout session.
Later that day, Soo-kyung confronts Hyo-sim about being inappropriate with her clients. Hyo-sim attempts to explain herself. However, Soo-kyung just ends up upsetting her further.
Later that night, Tae-ho heads to the bar to have a drink. On entering, he finds Hyo-sim extremely upset and heavily drunk. She sobs to him about her $100,000 as he tries to console her, and the episode concludes with that.
In episode 17, Hyo-sim’s family gathers at her father’s memorial service. Tae-min confronts Tae-ho about asking Hyo-sim to walk the ramp. Sook-hyang comes clean to Jin-bum about his mother being alive.
In terms of plot advancement, the episode is lacklustre. The episode is made much worse by the addition of a great deal of unnecessary drama, which is both annoying and unpleasant.
The plot is weakened by the behaviour of middle-aged female characters such as Sun-soon, Sook-hyang, and Hee-joo, who bring nothing but an abundance of drama and cringe.
