Live Your Own Life (2023) K Drama Episode 16

Live Your Own Life episode 16 picks up where the previous episode left off. Hyo-sim’s mother has a history of exhibiting favouritism to her sons at the expense of Hyo-sim, and she is particularly furious with her for spending her own finances on her sons. Following this, Hyo-sim breaks down. Mi-rim happens to spot her crying and she attempts to console her, but it doesn’t work.

At this point, Hyo-sim is helpless and takes out a loan from the loan shark. Following this, Hyo-sim hits a bar and starts to drink heavily. She then drunk dials Tae-ho and passes out. Following this, the barkeep tells Tae-ho that Hyo-sim had passed out in her bar. Consequently, Tae-ho quickly goes to Hyo-sim’s rescue.

Tae-ho picks the passed out Hyo-sim from the bar. Unfortunately, he is unsure of where to leave her. He then contacts Tae-min to find out her address. However, Tae-min takes Hyo-sim to Uicheon Villa all by himself. Following this, he calls Woo-joo and asks him to take Hyo-sim home.

The following morning, Hyo-sim sends the victim a wire transfer, and Hyo-joon is released from jail. Following that, the inspector discusses the part that Hyo-sim, Mi-rim, and Sun-soon played in his release with Hyo-joon.

On the other hand, Tae-ho takes Hyo-sim to practice her walk. He approaches her after practise and asks if they can loosen up a bit. However, Hyo-sim doesn’t answer him, and she walks away.

Outside Uicheon Villa, Hyo-sim finds Tae-min waiting for her as she heads home from work. Following that, they go to a park. Following this, Hyo-sim returns the gift he gave her without opening it. Having confessed his feelings for her, Tae-min now claims he will wait to prove his good intentions to her. He then insists that she go home and open the present he gave her.

On arriving at Uicheon Villa, Hyo-sim opens the present from Tae-min and finds a pricey hairband. For Hyo-sim, this brings up fond memories of their first meeting, and hence, a sense of nostalgia.

The following day, Hyo-sim reaches the venue to walk the ramp. She then surprises Tae-min by walking the ramp, and Soo-kyung is left bitter. As the episode comes to a close, Hyo-sim is hurriedly on her way home to attend the funeral her mother arranged for her father. Tae-ho makes an effort to stop her. Nonetheless, she leaves the venue after telling him that she has to attend to some things.

The Episode Review

In episode 16, Hyo-sim borrows money from the loan shark. Tae-min confesses his feelings for Hyo-sim. On the other hand, Tae-ho is showing signs of falling for Hyo-sim.

A great deal of dramatic tension permeates the episode’s plot. In addition the love triangle element is just too clichéd and adds nothing to the plot.

The episode was entertaining overall; however, it was a bit theatrical. This show has potential, so here’s hoping things get better.
