Disney+’s upcoming drama “Knock Off” has announced its broadcast plans!
“Knock Off” is a story about a man whose life is turned upside down by the 1997 Asian financial crisis (also known in Korea as the IMF crisis), transforming from an ordinary office worker to the king of the global counterfeit market. The drama will be helmed by director Park Hyun Suk of the hit dramas “Forest of Secrets 2” (“Stranger 2”), “Uncontrollably Fond,” and “Song of the Bandits.”
Kim Soo Hyun stars as Kim Sung Joon, a man with a pleasant personality and good looks, who once seemed destined for a stable and successful life after landing a job at a big company. However, the 1997 Asian financial crisis leaves him jobless overnight, forcing him into the counterfeit goods trade to earn seed money for a new business.
Jo Bo Ah plays Song Hye Jung, Sung Joon’s ex-girlfriend and a special judicial officer tasked with cracking down on counterfeit goods.
Speaking about his role, Kim Soo Hyun shared, “The series is filled with captivating characters, each with their own way of surviving. I wanted to portray how my character Kim Sung Joon faces countless crises, overcomes them, evolves, and grows.”
Describing her character, Jo Bo Ah said, “Hye Jung is Sung Joon’s first love, but she later becomes an official at the district office who cracks down on counterfeit products. Though she’s his first love, their relationship shifts from romance to one filled with hostility.”
“Knock Off” will be an 18-episode series set to release in two parts: Season 1, comprising nine episodes, will premiere in the first half of 2025, followed by the remaining nine episodes in the latter half of the year.
