The upcoming sequel to “Veteran,” titled “I, the Executioner,” has released new stills of Hwang Jung Min and Jung Hae In!
Directed by Ryoo Seung Wan, known for “The Battleship Island” and “Escape from Mogadishu,” “Veteran” is a crime action film following a veteran investigation team pursuing an arrogant third-generation chaebol. The sequel “I, the Executioner” continues the story of detective Seo Do Chul (Hwang Jung Min) and his crime investigation team, now joined by detective Park Sun Woo (Jung Hae In).
Newly released stills reveal the movie’s intense atmosphere. Hwang Jung Min returns as the justice-driven detective Seo Do Chul, continuing to embody the legendary character in the sequel. Jung Hae In transforms into rookie detective Park Sun Woo, showing passionate dedication to the case.
The new stills show a variety of scenes from actors in high-speed chases to the chemistry between seasoned detective Seo Do Chul and rookie detective Park Sun Woo during their investigation. The stills also feature intense action in the rain, building excitement for the film.
Hwang Jung Min, back as detective Seo Do Chul in this film, said, “I wanted a sequel since we made ‘Veteran’ and have been waiting for a long time. Even though it’s been nine years, I wanted the audience to feel that Seo Do Chul hasn’t changed. I aimed to keep the same energy from the first film.”
Jung Hae In said, “I think it will be a movie where the audience can experience anger and exhilaration together.”
“I, the Executioner” premiered globally in May at the 77th Cannes International Film Festival’s Midnight Screening, receiving applause from local audiences as well as foreign media. The film is slated to hit theaters on September 13.
