With its premiere fast approaching, the upcoming movie “Victory” has shared three reasons to look forward to the film!
Directed by Park Beom Soo, “Victory” is a film about youth starring Hyeri, Park Se Wan, Lee Jung Ha, Jo Aram, and more. The film tells the story of Geoje Commercial High School’s cheerleading team Millennium Girls, where eight team members with unique personalities are gathered. Set against the backdrop of 1999, “Victory” follows passionate best friends Pil Sun (Hyeri) and Mi Na (Park Se Wan) as they form a cheerleading team in order to be able to dance.
Here are three highlights to watch for:
Since “Victory” revolves around cheerleading, the actors trained intensively to perform the routines themselves. Each cast member, including Hyeri and Park Se Wan, dedicated six months to mastering the choreography—three months before filming began and three months during production. Their hard work paid off, with the cheerleading coach praising their skills as competition-worthy. Viewers can expect dynamic and high-energy performances that truly capture the essence of cheerleading.
The film features a nostalgic soundtrack with nine iconic songs from the 1990s. Tracks such as “Hayeoga” by Seo Taiji and Boys and “Why Calling” by Diva are seamlessly integrated into the cheerleading and hip hop dance scenes. Hyeri teased the experience, saying, “Imagining Pil Sun dance to these songs made me feel truly exhilarated.” Viewers can look forward to enjoying the classic hit songs in a new and exciting way on the big screen.
The on-screen chemistry among the Millennium Girls promises to be a highlight of the film. Park Se Wan noted, “Our teamwork is so great that no words were needed,” reflecting the genuine friendship among the cast. Their dynamic and colorful interactions will offer viewers a fresh and engaging experience.
“Victory” is set to hit theaters on August 14.
