Circle Chart (formerly known as Gaon Chart) has announced its latest batch of official certifications!
In 2018, the Korea Music Content Industry Association implemented a new certification system for album sales, song downloads, and online streaming. Starting with music released on or after January 1, 2018, Circle Chart now certifies albums platinum once they reach 250,000 sales, while albums that have sold a million copies or more receive a “million” certification.
This month, Circle Chart awarded ZEROBASEONE a double million certification for their debut mini album “YOUTH IN THE SHADE,” making them the first K-pop group to surpass 2 million sales with their debut album.
Meanwhile, NCT’s recent full-group album “Golden Age,” ITZY’s latest mini album “KILL MY DOUBT,” and TXT’s 2020 mini album “minisode1: Blue Hour” all earned official million certifications for selling over 1 million copies each.
BTS’s J-Hope’s solo album “Jack In The Box” (HOPE Edition), TWICE’s Jihyo’s solo debut mini album “ZONE,” and Young Tak’s “FORM” all received double platinum certifications for over 500,000 copies sold.
Additionally, STAYC’s “TEENFRESH,” THE BOYZ’s “PHANTASY: Pt.1 Christmas in August,” and PLAVE’s “ASTERUM : The Shape of Things to Come” were all certified platinum for selling over 250,000 copies each.
Over in the streaming category, BTS’s 2020 smash hit “Dynamite” was certified triple platinum after surpassing 300 million streams.
Finally, WSG Wannabe (Gaya-G)’s “To You,” BE’O’s “Limousine” (featuring WINNER’s Song Mino and produced by Gray), Jukjae’s “Do you want to walk with me?,” and Kim Feel’s “Someday, The Boy” were all certified platinum for reaching 100 million streams each.
Congratulations to all of the artists!
