The 2000 film “Ditto” will be getting a remake!
Earlier on April 9, News1 reported that Yeo Jin Goo and Kim Hye Yoon were reviewing offers to star in the film “Ditto.” News1 later added that Na In Woo was also looking over an offer to join the two actors in the film.
On April 14, it was confirmed that Yeo Jin Goo, Cho Yi Hyun, Kim Hye Yoon, Na In Woo, and Bae In Hyuk will be starring in the remake of the film “Ditto.” Originally starring Kim Ha Neul and Yoo Ji Tae, “Ditto” is a story of love and friendship about a man and a woman from different time periods who coincidentally begin to converse through walkie-talkies.
Having starred in the hit dramas “Hotel Del Luna,” “Beyond Evil,” and more, Yeo Jin Goo will be playing the role of Yong, a returning student majoring in mechanical engineering who started attending college in 1995. Rising star Cho Yi Hyun from “All of Us Are Dead” will be taking on the role of Moo Nee who entered the department of sociology in 2021.
Kim Hye Yoon will be starring as Yong’s first love Han Sol, and Na In Woo will take on the role of Moo Nee’s affectionate male friend Young Ji. Kim Hye Yoon previously starred in “SKY Castle,” “Extraordinary You,” and more, while Na In Woo starred in “River Where the Moon Rises” and recently joined “2 Days 1 Night Season 4.” Finally, Bae In Hyuk of “My Roommate is a Gumiho” will be playing Eun Sung, Yong’s close friend from the same department.
The upcoming remake will be helmed by director Seo Eun Young of the film “Confessions.” The director previously won an award at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival and was invited to the Warsaw Film Festival under the category for new directors.
“Ditto” will start filming in May.
