The World Scout Jamboree K-pop concert has been postponed.
The 25th World Scout Jamboree—which is an event that gathers scouts around the world and takes place every four years—is held this year from August 1 to 12 in South Korea at Saemangeum, North Jeolla Province. In celebration of the 25th World Scout Jamboree, the “K-Pop Super Live” concert was originally scheduled to take place on August 6 at an outdoor stadium in Saemangeum and broadcast via KBS1.
Minister of Gender Equality and Family Kim Hyun Sook announced on August 6 the postponement of the “K-Pop Super Live” concert due to the heat wave. She stated, “The K-pop concert scheduled for today (August 6) will be carried out on the day of the closing ceremony on August 11.”
Furthermore, although a Korean news outlet reported that the “K-Pop Super Live” will be canceled, a representative from KBS1’s 2023 World Scout Jamboree “K-Pop Super Live” later clarified, “It is not canceled. The concert is postponed to August 11.”
The representative further confirmed that the concert will now take place at the Jeonju World Cup Stadium, while other details are still in discussion.
“K-Pop Super Live” is scheduled to be hosted by Jang Dong Yoon and STAYC’s Seeun, and the current lineup consists of IVE, ZEROBASEONE, NMIXX. STAYC, P1Harmony, &TEAM, VERIVERY, Lee Chae Yeon, Aiki, NATURE, ATBO, and xikers.
Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Park Bo Gyoon also added that there will be changes in the performer lineup. He stated, “We are preparing for an even more spectacular event,” and briefly remarked that nothing has been decided on BTS’s appearance at the concert.
STARNEWS further reported that representatives of the performing artists’ agencies stated, “We have only been notified on the postponement of the schedule.”
