Upcoming drama “Strangers” (literal translation) has dropped a new look at Jeon Hye Jin and Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung as mother and daughter!
Based on a popular webtoon, “Strangers” is a comedy drama that tells the delightful cohabitation story of a clumsy mother and her coolheaded daughter. Jeon Hye Jin will star as Eun Mi, a bubbly physical therapist and single mother with a 29-year-old daughter. Sooyoung will play Eun Mi’s daughter Jin Hee, a police station patrol team leader who urgently needs to crack down on her mother rather than on her cases.
The drama’s comedic first teaser previews the wildly different personalities of Eun Mi and Jin Hee, who boast a unique mother-daughter bond and may seem more like friends than family at first glance. It begins with Jin Hee in absolute disbelief at work, smiling hysterically to herself while repeatedly hitting her head against the wall. She thinks back and narrates, “I saw the most shocking thing in life.”
Later, Jin Hee asks her friend, “Have you ever seen your mom doing ‘XX’?” Whatever “XX” refers to is shocking enough for her friend to spit out the beer she was drinking, leaving viewers even more curious to find out what Jin Hee caught her mom doing.
Chaos continues as Eun Mi shows off her seductive side to Jin Hee and tries dragging her daughter to another round of drinks, even though she is already very drunk.
The mother-daughter duo then finds themselves in a horrifying situation as police director Jae Won (Park Sung Hoon) drives by their home and mysteriously gets a hold of someone’s underwear.
Various scenes flash by that tease the wild lives of Eun Mi and Jin Hee, who do not seem to get a moment’s rest. Confused, Jin Hee asks her friend, “Isn’t my mom weird?”
