Watch: Park Min Young And Kim Jae Wook Develop Heart Fluttering Chemistry In “Her Private Life” Highlight Video

Apr 5, 2019

tvN’s upcoming drama “Her Private Life” shared two highlight videos featuring Park Min Young and Kim Jae Wook!
In the drama, Park Min Young plays Sung Duk Mi, a professional curator at an art gallery who is also secretly an idol fangirl, while Kim Jae Wook plays her boss Ryan Gold.
The first clip starts by defining “dukhoo” (slang for fan) as someone who is even more passionate and dedicated to a certain field or area than a professional. Then, as the scene changes to a stage where an idol group is performing, Park Min Young narrates, “Sometimes, when you are leading your normal day-to-day life, you have to act and dress like a normal person.” She describes this as the slang term “ilco,” which is an abbreviation of “ilbanin cosplay,” or “cosplaying as a normal person.”
The scene then changes to introduce Park Min Young’s character, Sung Duk Mi. She is a professional curator at an art gallery, but her hidden passion is being a fangirl, getting satisfaction and extreme joy from taking exclusive pictures of her favorite idol. Actor Ahn Bo Hyun appears as Nam Eun Ki, a childhood friend of Sung Duk Mi who has a crush on her. Rapper ONE plays Cha Si Ahn, Sung Duk Mi’s bias in an idol group named White Ocean. He says, “In some ways, I don’t think there’s anyone that knows me as well as SiNaGil does.” SiNaGil is the Cha Si Ahn fan page run by Sung Duk Mi in the drama. Then, Duk Mi’s home master rival Cindy (played by Kim Bo Ra) intensely takes pictures of Cha Si Ahn in the airplane and anywhere else he goes. Cindy throws a fit when someone tells her that Cha Si Ahn likes SiNaGil more than her.
After the text that says that “dukjil” (Korean slang referring to the act of engaging in fan activities such as taking pictures of one’s bias, keeping up-to-date on news, etc.) will make this world a better place, Lee Seon Joo (played by Park Jin Joo) and Sung Duk Mi appear, sitting at a bar. Seon Joo says, “The one person you have to meet before you die is not your soulmate.” Duk Mi asks, “Then who is it?” and Seon Joo responds, “Your fangirl mate,” after which several scenes of the two sharing their fandom obsessions together are shown. Duk Mi talks about her extreme fangirl ambition as she says, “I don’t want to be remembered as a simple, plain fan. I’m going to get in his way as much as I can.” However, rather than Cha Si Ahn, Ryan is the one that Duk Mi keeps running into wherever she goes. She bumps into him at the airport, art gallery, and art auction. Seon Joo says, “Isn’t this destiny?”
The clip leaves us wondering why Duk Mi is handcuffed and why she gets slapped by someone. She narrates, “No matter how shabby my life may be, I’m greater than these elegant pieces of art because I’m alive and am living on.” As they hold hands in the hospital, Ryan says, “Curator Sung Duk Mi, thanks for telling me.” As to what Duk Mi taught Ryan, it remains a mystery. At the end of the clip, Ryan says to Duk Mi, “I’ll do it. I’ll be Sung Duk Mi’s boyfriend.” Kim Jae Wook sticks out his arm for Park Min Young to hold as he says, “You can have me.”
“Her Private Life” will premiere on April 10 at 9:30 p.m. KST.
