Watch: Park Bo Young, Um Tae Goo, Seolhyun, Lee Jung Eun, And More Share What Drew Them To Star In New Drama "Light Shop"

The actors and production team of “Light Shop” have shared their reasons for choosing to work on the project!

“Light Shop” follows the story of a unique lamp store that illuminates a dark alley and draws in mysterious guests with hidden secrets. The series is based on a webtoon by artist Kang Full. After writing the drama adaptation of his webtoon “Moving,” Kang Full also wrote the script for this project, which marks actor Kim Hee Won’s directorial debut.

A newly released video features the drama’s cast and crew, including writer Kang Full, director Kim Hee Won, and actors Park Bo Young, Um Tae Goo, Seolhyun, Lee Jung Eun, Kim Min Ha, Shin Eun Soo, and Kim Sun Hwa.

Kang Full, who gained global recognition with “Moving,” explains his decision to work on “Light Shop” by saying, “As an audience member and reader, I want to see interesting works.”

The cast also shared their thoughts on the project, crediting Kang Full’s unique world-building and strong storytelling as they reasons they were drawn to the project. Park Bo Young says, “I already had confidence in the drama,” while Um Tae Goo remarks, “It was a script unlike anything I had seen before. It had a great impact.” Seolhyun adds, “I cried a lot while reading it.”

Lee Jung Eun expresses her curiosity about the hidden stories of the visitors to “Light Shop” before adding, “I was amazed. The writer is truly outstanding.” Shin Eun Soo calls the drama “a new experience,” and Kim Min Ha notes, “I thought it was remarkable how it contained humanity within its world.” Kim Sun Hwa describes the work as “a simple yet impactful piece that leaves a lasting impression.”

Director Kim Hee Won remarks, “Kang Full has a unique emotional quality that is unmistakable. That is [the drama’s] greatest strength.”

“Light Shop” will consist of a total of eight episodes. Four episodes will be available on December 4, followed by the release of two episodes each week for the next two weeks.
