MBC’s upcoming drama “Chief Detective 1958” has released a new teaser!
“Chief Detective 1958” will serve as a prequel to the classic Korean series “Chief Inspector,” which ran for 18 years from 1971 to 1989 and achieved an incredible peak of 70 percent ratings back in its heyday. While the original show was set in the 1970s and 1980s (present day at the time), “Chief Detective 1958” will be set even earlier, in 1958.
At the beginning of the teaser, viewers are given a glimpse of the tenacity of detective Park Young Han, who transforms Jongnam Police Station with his arrival.
The teaser then introduces Park Young Han’s team members, including Kim Sang Soon (Lee Dong Hwi), Jo Kyung Hwan (Choi Woo Sung), and Seo Ho Jung (Yoon Hyun Soo).
First, the teaser introduces detective Kim Sang Soon, whose nickname is “Crazy Dog.” Living up to his nickname, he can be seen kicking a criminal in the police station and later biting a criminal’s ear.
Next, the teaser shows Jo Kyung Hwan, a young man with extraordinary strength. In one scene, he slaps a mysterious man in the face in the alleyway of Jongnam Market and sends him flying. Other scenes similarly give viewers a glimpse of his extraordinary strength, as he is seen taking on numerous opponents all by himself in a martial arts class and also carrying a thug over his shoulder.
Finally, the teaser introduces Park Young Han’s last team member Seo Ho Jung, who graduated from a prestigious university. The teaser then concludes by giving viewers a glimpse of the four cops working together as a team.
