tvN has released a behind-the-scenes video from the filming of episode 6 of “Jirisan.”
“Jirisan” is a mystery drama from writer Kim Eun Hee, starring Jun Ji Hyun and Joo Ji Hoon as mountain rangers in Mount Jiri National Park who uncover the truth behind mysterious accidents on the mountain.
The video starts with Jun Ji Hyun helping Joo Ji Hoon rehearse his lines. When filming for the scene begins, Jun Ji Hyun rattles through her lines and actions without waiting for the lines from the other actors. Oh Jung Se whispers, “My line,” and bursts into laughter, and Jo Han Chul says, “I was supposed to say mine first!”
Next is a scene in which Joo Min Kyung‘s character is poisoned and gets rescued by the others. Oh Jung Se throws himself passionately into the scene, but when he accidentally slaps her face too hard while trying to get her to “wake up,” the actress grabs him by the lapels and shakes him in mock anger.
Son Seok Gu makes a special appearance in this episode as Lim Cheol Kyung, Seo Yi Kang (Jun Ji Hyun’s character)’s first love. Before he can film his first appearance, though, the production staff have to clear the road of snow. (The drama was filmed far in advance of its broadcast date.) Son Seok Gu and Joo Ji Hoon film a rescue scene together in the freezing cold. Dressed in only a light jacket, Son Seok Gu has no problems lying face-down in the snow when it’s time to film, while Joo Ji Hoon wears himself out fighting through the snowdrifts to get to him.
In the action scene that takes place in Bidam Shelter, Seo Yi Kang finds Jung Goo Young (Oh Jung Se’s character) lying bleeding and unconscious on the floor. She then runs off to find the criminals, but when the director says cut, Oh Jung Se jokingly complains, “She just runs off? And leaves me here?” Joo Ji Hoon and his partner in the scene, who plays the criminal, work hard to safely film their fight scene in the cramped and crowded room.
Oh Jung Se and Jun Ji Hyun also show off their great chemistry during a scene when she’s supposed to hit him lightly on the head. Even though the director says cut before the slap can happen, she goes ahead and does it anyway.
