Jo Jung Suk and Shin Se Kyung’s upcoming drama “Captivating the King” has unveiled a new teaser!

Written by Kim Sun Deok of tvN’s “The Crowned Clown,” “Captivating the King” tells the cruel love story between King Yi In (Jo Jung Suk), a miserable king who harbors an emptiness within him despite his high position, and Kang Hee Soo (Shin Se Kyung), whose initial motive of seeking revenge against him transforms into an unexpected attraction.

In the teaser video, King Yi In and Kang Hee Soo engage in a baduk (go) match, skillfully placing alternating black and white stones on the board as they vie for victory.

Notably, the teaser captures the dynamic range of emotions experienced by King Yi In and Kang Hee Soo through fast-paced editing and split screens. The excitement in their eyes during the lighthearted go match, with Prince Yi In and Kang Mong Woo (Shin Se Kyung), a woman who disguises herself as a man, playfully interacting, seamlessly transitions into a scene where their roles shift to king and spy. The palpable tension and intense gaze exchanged between them reveal a careful and guarded demeanor, hinting at the transformation in their relationship from amicable go buddies to becoming targets of revenge.

The narration stating, “Deception, slowly infiltrates, and ultimately falls in love,” adds curiosity to the romance story that will unravel between Yi In, the ascending king, and Kang Hee Soo, a spy who approaches him secretly while hiding her true identity.
