Lay recently sat down with People to discuss his latest album “NAMANANA” and his activities in the United States.
When asked if there were any artists or producers he wanted to work with in the future, Lay answered, “Recently, I really want to collaborate with Ella Mai.” The hosts then talked about Lay’s experience performing at Lollapalooza with DJ Alan Walker. Lay commented, “It was very amazing. It was a dope stage. I really like U.S. music festivals. If I have an opportunity to join U.S. music festivals, it’d make me very happy.”
Lay then brought up a surprising fan encounter, saying, “So for this New York trip, I met a fan who wanted to get married!” He then joked that he’d have to think about the question, as he couldn’t respond right away.
The hosts later asked Lay about K-pop and its potential in appealing to the U.S. audience, to which Lay responded, “It’s hard to say, but I think if I make good music, everybody will like it. I want to do more collaborations with not producers, but artists. I want to make good music all over the world.”
The singer then discussed his upcoming Michael Jackson tribute project and chose his favorite Michael Jackson track — “You Are Not Alone” — and even sang a few lines from the song!
He then assured fans that it was very normal to receive injuries as a dancer and sweetly told them, “Please just enjoy my [performances], just enjoy my music.”
Regarding a possible world tour, Lay remarked that he wanted to hold one as soon as possible.
