Watch: EXO’s D.O., Park Hye Soo, And More Dance Their Hearts Out In New “Swing Kids” Trailer
Nov 13, 2018
A new trailer for the upcoming film “Swing Kids” is here!
Set in the year 1951, “Swing Kids” tells the story of a dance crew formed inside of a prison camp. Its members include Roh Ki Soo (played by EXO’s D.O.), quadrilingual translator Yang Pan Rae (played by Park Hye Soo), Kang Byung Sam (played by Oh Sung Je) who needs to become famous to find his wife, and the surprisingly talented dancer Xiao Pang (played by Kim Min Ho). It’s led by director Kim Hyung Chul, who’s been behind hit films like “Scandal Makers,” “Sunny,” and “Tazza.”
On November 13, CGV shared the film’s second trailer on its Facebook page.
In the video, the head of the prison camp comes up with an idea to start a dance team. Jackson (played by Jared Grimes) becomes the leader of the crew, but seems skeptical about this project’s success.
Various prisoners try out and Roh Ki Soo can’t look away once he gets a peek of tap dancing. To the tune of “Sing, Sing, Sing,” the trailer continues to tell the story of the dancing bug that officially hits this prison camp.
Roh Ki Soo says, “When I hear that sound, my heart beats quickly day and night. This thing called tap dance makes a person go crazy.”
Words like, “Dance instead of guns. Rhythm instead of wars. Those who will make the whole world dance are coming!” flash on the screen. After lots of practice, the crew is introduced on stage as the “Swing Kids.”
“Swing Kids” will premiere in theaters on December 19. Check out the trailer below!
