TXT will be putting on a very special debut performance at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs)!
On August 31 local time, MTV officially revealed its next star-studded lineup of performers for its 2023 Video Music Awards. TXT, Doja Cat, Lil Wayne, Anitta, and Kelsea Ballerini were all announced as performing artists, joining the previously announced roster of Stray Kids, Demi Lovato, Karol G, and Måneskin.
Not only will TXT be premiering a new pre-release single at the U.S. award ceremony, but according to MTV, they will also be staging a special collaboration performance with Brazilian singer Anitta—making them “the first K-pop band to perform a genre-blending collaboration” on the show.
TXT is nominated for two awards at this year’s VMAs: Push Performance of the Year and Best K-Pop.
Meanwhile, the new song that TXT will be performing for the first time at the awards is a pre-release track from their upcoming full-length album “The Name Chapter: FREEFALL,” which is due out on October 13.
The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards will air live on September 12 at 8 p.m. ET.
