The Killing Vote episode 11 starts with Hyun and Mu-chan facing difficult decisions – do they forgive the perpetrators or let them face the consequences of their actions?

Much to Seok-joo’s disappointment, Mu-chan saves Min-soo, and we immediately jump to 8 years ago when Ahn Gyu-chul asked Jin-soo to let the case go in favour of Min-soo and Ji-young. Although he has been acting on behalf of Ji-young, he continues to act sweet with Mu-chan and the police. It might also be the case that he gave away vital information about the evidence that Mu-chan found.

In the present, Mu-chan takes Seok-joo away accompanied by Chul-min, while Hyun, overcome by heartache, takes Ji-hoon away to be arrested. However, Min helps him escape at the last moment. Meanwhile, Ji-young asks Jin-soo which of the two cars he and Min-soo are in and, in a surprising change of heart, he lies and tells her that the two of them are in the second car. Right on cue, he realises that a truck is speeding down the down and drives right into them, and they get into a horrible accident. Mu-chan’s car is left unscathed but shocked.

As Hyun tries to catch up to Ji-hoon, Mu-chan comes out of their wrecked car and rushes towards Jin-soo, realising that a lamppost is about to fall on their car. He gets Jin-soo out but is unable to fish out the rest. As the lamppost falls and the car catches fire, Seok-joo rushes to the other car and checks whether Min-soo is dead – he isn’t, and unsurprisingly, he taunts the professor with Na-rae’s death. Seok-joo is about to stab Min-soo, but Mu-chan stops him from committing another murder.

Unfortunately, Chul-min ends up stabbing Mu-chan, and Seok-joo takes the opportunity to stab Min-soo, who is eventually engulfed in flames. The car blows up after they exchange one last glance. As Chul-min and Seok-joo try to make a daring escape, Mu-chan tries to shoot the car but to no avail, and they successfully escape. Elsewhere, Hyun is unable to find Ji-hoon, but it eventually stops mattering when she learns that Min-soo is dead and that everyone else is gravely injured.

When Hyun reaches the scene, she is shocked to find everyone rattled and injured. She immediately asks Mu-chan to get treated as Ji-young reaches the spot and is inconsolable as she finds Min-soo’s burnt body. The next day, Do-hee announces to the world about Seok-joo and his involvement in the Killing Vote in a way which clearly indicates that she supports whatever happened. Her boss, however, isn’t happy with her work and secretly asks his team to get rid of her. Elsewhere, Mu-chan can’t help but question Jin-soo’s loyalty while Ji-hoon tells Min about his involvement with Seok-joo.

At the station, Hyun finds evidence about Jin-soo’s involvement with Ji-young after combing through his phone. They are both left shocked at the development while Mu-chan also goes through Chul-min’s things at the prison in hopes of finding any important evidence. That night, Mu-chan visits Ji-young and threatens her to stay away from Jin-soo from then on. He reminds her that she shouldn’t have messed with the police in the first place, and it won’t end well for her.

The next day, Ji-young sues the police for Min-soo’s death, while Mu-chan and Hyun try to find Ji-hoon by following Min. Thankfully he isn’t home, but Min is left annoyed at her sister and Mu-chan following her around before she informs Ji-hoon not to come home. Elsewhere, after scattering Na-rae’s ashes, Seok-joo implores Ji-hoon to run away and forget about them. Although the latter refuses to comply at first, Seok-joo insists he finds a better life, and he eventually complies, but not before Ji-hoon asks Seok-joo whether he hates him for being late to pick Na-rae up. Seok-joo assures him that that’s not the case, and Ji-hoon leaves soon after sharing a hug.

However, it seems like Seok-joo is still hiding secrets.

As Mu-chan tries to find Seok-joo’s hideout, Ji-hoon arrives at Min’s place to bid goodbye while Ji-hoon has Do-hee kidnapped and gagged at her place. Soon after, the Killing Vote starts again, and this time, it’s Seok-joo himself who is going on the voting. Ji-hoon is left shocked at the turn of events and immediately calls his father. However, Chul-min informs him that Seok-joo will end his life no matter what because that is the right thing to do. Forced to stop his father, Ji-hoon makes a run for the hideout with Min in tow.

Elsewhere, Chul-min and Seok-joo are surrounded by Mu-chan and a whole battalion of police, who are all left confused when a desperate Ji-hoon starts to stream about not voting for Seok-joo’s death. As two different streams take place and Ji-hoon and Min run through traffic and people to reach his father, Ji-young’s men follow them as Mu-chan, realising what’s happening, negotiates with Seok-joo.

In the end, however, Ji-hoon and Min are caught and viciously beaten up while Seok-joo takes his own life, and the police are unable to save them either way.

In the ending scene, we see the entire police team having a grand night drinking and having fun, joined by Min and Ji-hoon.

This is one emotional episode, I must say! With Ji-young being completely crazy, it’s truly a question of whether or not the two men will stay alive in the end. With Ji-hoon getting a metal rod whacked on his head, I doubt there is much chance there. Maybe Seok-joo will have better odds.

With an emotional backstory keeping things taut, I must say that it’s not everyday that we feel something for a bunch of vigilantes who have taken the law into their hands. It’s interesting how, even after so long, we are able to find new people who are associated with the vote. It’s keeping things fresh and tense, and most of the time, I couldn’t come up with what the next move will be. Ji-hoon’s bond with Min is sweet, and their motivations are relatable. I guess it’s fair to say that people get murdered when their families get involved.

Either way, I think the last few episodes of the drama have been solid. Unfortunately, the release schedule has been completely out of whack, and the one-episode-per-week thing is also another hindrance to enjoying the series thoroughly. I think most people will forget what happened the week before with how the releases are going. Hopefully, we will get to see the finale in the next week.
