Sweet Home Season 2 (2023) K Drama Episode 6

Episode 6 of Sweet Home Season 2 begins with Yi-kyung running off with Mystery Girl. Eun-yu follows them and in turn, Chan-young follows her. He catches up with a lost Eun-yu and they bicker till she falls into a pit. He catches her but Ho-sang pushes him.

Jun-il tries to poison his mother as it is better than hurting but she doesn’t die. While stabbing her to death, he explodes as Lim watches. Annoyed at the setback, he runs to get Tak who stages the incident as Mrs. Oh turning and killing her son. He warns Lim that he is only alive because he stands for hope that humanity hasn’t given up even if it is far from reality.

As Yi-kyung takes Mystery Girl to a boat, the MH says she wants to find a man but Yi-kyung doesn’t listen. Mystery Girl also tells her friend, the baby monster to stay hidden.

Elsewhere, Ji looks at a photo of her with a man and a boy and asks him to hold on. Ye-seul shows up and she hides the photo. Annoyed with Ye-seul interrupting, Ji scolds her much to her daughter’s confusion.

Tak announces that Mrs. Oh is dead and Seok-chan is angry that Tak is keeping them in the dark. Meanwhile, Ji cries as she and Lim were supposed to free Mrs. Oh after she saw Jun-il. But like the viewers, Lim wonders why she is so worked up.

Inside, Kim tells Seo-jin about Choi and Ji-na but agrees with Tak that they can’t rush out to save him. This angers Seo-jin who takes it out on the ration guys.

During roll call, Dong-gi, Sang-jin, Eun-yu and Chan-young are found to be missing. They start searching for the hidden exit and Tak threatens Ji for not telling them about it. As he leaves, she locks her room and switches on something.

While everyone searches, they think that Chanyoung and Eun-yu have eloped. This irritates Ye-seul who tries to ask her mom. Surprised to see Ji’s room locked, she tries to pick it open. But Ji suddenly opens the door and slaps her. She kicks her out as Ye-seul begs her not to abandon her.

In the pit, Eun-yu helps Chan-young’s sprained ankle and he asks who she is looking for. She simply wishes she could see him one last time, hinting at Eun-hyuk. Ho-sang throws them a rope and even kills a monster stalking them. Eun-yu and Chan-young recognise him but he and Ha-ni tie them up. Ho-sang is angry at them for ruining his pit trap while Ha-ni crushes on Chan-young. Eun-yu tries to trade Chan-young for her freedom and he is hurt.

On the boat, Mystery Girl tries to comfort Yi-kyung who turns out to be her mother. Yi-kyung is scared for her and tells her that she locked her up for her own good. She doesn’t listen to Mystery Girl’s reasoning on why she possessed Dong-gi and locks her in. In a flashback, we see some men hunting a baby Mystery Girl for sport. Yi-kyung tries to stop them, but Mystery Girl grows up and possesses them.

At present, Mystery Girl sets her cell on fire to escape and the baby monster tries to help too. However, an afraid Yi-kyung tries to kill it. Mystery Girl is hurt as her mother refuses to understand that the monster is her friend. Mystery Girl recalls some of the thoughts Yi-kyung had when she was born – she was afraid of her child and wished it would disappear as she couldn’t kill or abandon it. Mystery Girl then jumps in the water and Yi-kyung tries to rescue her.

Meanwhile, Ha-ni lets Eun-yu go and hangs out with Chan-young who doesn’t look too happy. She gives him a drink and he blacks out. As for Ji-na, she reveals that she has a terminal illness and begs Kim to find Choi. He is helpless but soon finds an SOS signal at Bamseom.

Then there’s Tak who starts turning and hallucinates his monster self. He tries to kill himself and accidentally attacks Lim. He reveals that he can make Tak a special infectee who can control his monsterization in exchange for his freedom.

Back at the botanical garden, Mystery Girl approaches Eun-yu who asks about Yi-kyung. Mystery Girl simply states that she and all humans are bad. At the end of Sweet Home Season 2 Episode 6, she pushes Eun-yu down a tunnel but Hyun-su saves her.

The Episode Review

Sweet Home Season 2 Episode 6 finally gives a glimpse of Hyun-su though we doubt it will be a tearful or sweet reunion. Sorry, Hyun-su but Eun-yu is too busy searching for her brother. It is just unfortunate that Mystery Girl caused her to take a detour. As for poor Mystery Girl, why is Yi-kyung giving her a hard time? If you cannot handle your monster of a daughter, just let her go ma’am!

There is a whole lot of conflict among the other secondary characters as well and as we reach the last stretch of the season, we doubt all of them will be solved. What is up with Ji and her secret room? And will Shady Peter’s storyline culminate into anything? Then there’s the military with each of them having different problems. Hope the writers don’t bite off more than what they can chew.
