KBS2’s upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama “The Matchmakers” has dropped new posters!

“The Matchmakers” is a rom-com drama set during the Joseon dynasty. It tells the story of the meeting between the young widow Jung Soon Deok (Cho Yi Hyun) and young widower Shim Jung Woo (Rowoon) as well as the struggle the two go through together to marry off the four young maidens who represent Joseon.

Rowoon will take on the role of Shim Jung Woo who is brilliant enough to become the youngest person to pass the Civil Service Exam. However, he is also a person of misfortune whose chances for a successful career and marriage slip away due to the death of a princess during the wedding ceremony.

In the poster below, Shim Jung Woo wears a purple hanbok (Korean traditional clothing) and a gat (Korean traditional hat) with bamboo straps, exuding charisma as a man of principle.

Cho Yi Hyun will play Jung Soon Deok, the second daughter-in-law of the first vice-premier’s family. She lives a double life as Mrs. Yeo Joo, the best matchmaker in Hanyang City.

In Jung Soon Deok’s character poster, she showcases her charms as Mrs. Yeo Joo with a gache (Korean traditional wig worn by women) and colorful hair accessories.

The production team remarked, “The character teaser posters are created so that the unique characteristics of Shim Jung Woo and Jung Soon Deok, who will be in charge of the marriages of singles in the Joseon Dynasty, can be clearly summarized at a glance.
