Recap Thailand Drama "The Miracle of Teddy Bear" Episode 5

The Miracle of Teddy Bear (คุณหมีปาฏิหาริย์) is a Thai romantic-drama-fantasy series directed by Paajaew Yuthana Lorphanpaibul and stars Sarin Ronnakiat, Thuchapon Koowongbundit, Thanapon Jarujitranon and Parada Chutchavalchotikul, alongside other cast members. The series has 15 episodes and The Miracle of Teddy Bear episode 5 has a runtime of 89 minutes.

The Miracle of Teddy Bear episode 5 starts with Tofu delivering Nut’s laundry in his room and, then sitting down to talk to the furniture and other items in the room. They deduce that Tofu has started acting more like a human now and, even his anger is like Nut’s. As the conversation goes on, Nut steps out of his bathroom and is annoyed to see Tofu sitting there. He asks Tofu to go ahead and iron the laundry clothes, to which Tofu answers that he does not know how to iron.

Nut teaches Tofu how to iron clothes during which the two get close. In the moment, Nut and Tofu are lost in each other’s eyes and don’t notice the iron turning hot and, hurting Nut. Tofu asks Nut to touch his earlobes as Na had once told him that it eases the pain. When Nut does, Tofu makes him touch his earlobes and, they are again hot and heavy with the intimacy. When Tofu later comes to the living room drinking water and calming himself down, Na’s slippers tell him that he might like Nut and that is why his heart is beating fast. Nut, on the other hand, is awed by the presence and feels good about the incident.

 

The next morning Tofu adorably prepares Nut his lunch as Na has overslept because Tofu had secretly mixed medicines in Na’s apple juice to make her better. Tofu continues to do the same but, feels apologetic for deceiving Na.

Meanwhile, in the office when Nut opens his lunch that is prepared by Tofu, he finds burnt pork which gives him a reminder of the first time he tried pork. We don’t see who it was with then but, Nut enthusiastically munches on the pork and rice. Prib and Gen enter the scene and, Prib tries to throw away the meal as it is burnt but Nut does not let her. Later, Prib informs Gen that she has gotten herself an air fryer to learn how to cook and impress Nut. In the mall, Prib meets Anik and, they talk about some updates on Tarn’s case.

Prib reveals that whatever the problem, it must not be because of any woman as Tarn hasn’t dated for two years. He has been stuck on his first love and, Prib informs Anik that she has even written about it on her page titled ‘Once Upon a Time’. Back at home Anik discovers the page and reads a little but, is soon interrupted by Song’s presence. Song jumps at his father being a BL fanboy but, Ank explains that it is related to Neung’s friend, Tarn’s case. He states that Tarn was not “manly” which is misinterpreted by Song who claims how can his father call anybody less manly if he likes guys.

But, Anik explains that he means masculinity and not sexual orientation and, Song changes the topic immediately to dinner. In Nut’s house, Na asks Tofu about Saen, who she is unable see. Tofu replies he must have left as Na had woken up late. Na talks about Saen gets busy in work and takes days to return home. In fact, Na and Saen have not celebrated each others’ birthdays together for years now. Tofu chimes in that Saen’s birthday is approaching and, is on September 8. This information is inquired by Na but, Tofu says Saen told him but, we know that’s not the case and, it might have something to do with Tofu’s past and origin.

 

This is when Nut reaches home and we are distracted from the conversation. Nut offers Tofu a tiffin box full of food for him, Keunchai and Na and, also asks him not to burn the pork next time. When Nut asks Tofu about the recipe he followed for the pork, Tofu answers that he went with his gut feeling while cooking. A smiling Nut leaves the room.

Meanwhile, Anik gets an update on Tarn’s case that suggests that Jan had called him before his attack and, was also seen in Chaing Mai even. Song asks his father when he would return from work next and, realizes that he has the house empty for one day completely. He continuously called Gen, who is annoyed and, Song goes on to further pull his leg based on his age and, calls him everything from an uncle to a little brother.

 

The next day arrives and the shooting for Nut’s script starts due to which he informs Na that he will no longer be needing lunch, which underwhelms Na. When Tofu lets Nut’s car out, he is caught by Nhong and Chu who try to find out if Tofu knows about Jan leaving the house with suitcases and everything. Even though he does, Tofu opens up about Na feeling sad as she will no longer be able to cook for Nut. After talking to Chu, Tofu gets an idea of how to help Na feel better.

 

At the film set Nut meets Juea’s cousin, Pritr, who he realizes is his teacher from school. She is surprised to see Nut recognizing her but, goes on to talk about the script. Nut says that he has written a scrip based on high-school life and, has taken personalized accounts from his life to depicting the class system, power and oppression in school. Pritr asks if he has includes his love life in the script and, Nut says he has to which Pritr gives her orthodox view that it isn’t normal. Nut stands up for himself and his sexuality and gives Pritr a nice telling back.

Meanwhile, on set Gen imagines himself opposite Song on the screen but, represses his feelings. Soon a tragedy strikes that a basketball-playing cast member will not be able to turn up due to an accident. Tofu enters the scene right then to deliver Nut food and, Song suggests he be put as the replacement as he plays really well basketball. As the power-packed shooting of the basketball happens, Nut walks into the set and, is reminded of his time back in school when Neung used to play basketball. He barges in and shouts at Tofu, who starts bleeding from his nose soon and, is put to rest.

Once everything gets back to normal onset, Nut asks everyone to continue with the shooting as he leaves. The other discusses that Nut has been uncomfortable since morning while shooting and, that is mostly because he must have bad memories from school. In a flashback we get to know how Pritr threatened to out Nut in school and, later on, he was attacked by his classmates for being gay. In the present time, we see Tofu offering Nut apple jelly even though Nut asked him to not get him any food from home. Tofu continues to say that he wants to record his memories with Nut, which sends a realization in both that Tofu will have to leave someday.

 

On the other hand, as the first day of set wraps up Song seeks Gen’s validation on his acting. This prompts Gen to make a sensitive remark about Song’s father. To make up for his remark, Song asks Gen to drive him home. The duo share some cute moments, all ending in Gen cutely ordering Song some food as he the former did not want the latter to go to bed empty stomach.

 

At home, Tofu asks Nut to accept his “boyfriend” request on Facebook, which he has learned all from Song. Nut is annoyed by it and, does not respond. At work, Nut faces pressure to deliver a mainstream script that will impress and attract the public and, he sits with references while constantly being reminded of his relationship[ with Tarn from the past. Soon after we are taken to Chaing Mai and, we see Jan visiting Tarn in the hospital. In a flashback, the fight about the land that Jan and Tarn had is revealed.

At the police station, Jan is dishonest about the conversation about the property she had with Tarn, saying that she was only visiting Chiang Mai to meet Tarn and set up a business meeting with a potential client who wants to buy their land. She says she did not see or be in contact with Tarn after that. After Jan’s interview, Anik’s deputy poses the question if Saen and Jan are both in this together.

After the interrogation, Saen asks if Jan was in Chaing Mai during the attack due to which the police questioned her. But Jan is reluctant to reveal and says that Saen never reveals what he does so why should she. But soon she spills that she had come to meet Tarn about the land she wanted to sell. Saen questions her further and, she says that she has not hurt Tarn.

 

Later we see Nut having another episode of aggression when he discovers that Tofu has entered his room with the help of keys provided by Na. He shouts at Na, throws away the food that Prib brings in for him and terrifies everyone. Gen pulls his aside and tells him that Na only did that because she was worried. Gen asks Nut to leave behind his past’s tragedy and move on with the present where Priba and Tofu are both crazy for him.

 

Final Thoughts: The Miracle of Teddy Bear Episode 5

The Miracle of Teddy Bear Episode 5 gives Nut’s character the main stage. We understand his anger issues better and, his life in the past and present. Things are better between both Nut and Tofu as well as Song and Gen and, it is endearing to watch these couples have their moments. Even Keunchai and Tofu’s new formed bond is a treat to watch.
