Recap Thailand Drama "The Miracle of Teddy Bear" Episode 11

The Miracle of Teddy Bear Episode 11 starts with the continuation of Tarn and Nut’s love story approaching an end. We see that initially, Nut got away with hanging out with Tarn at the mall when Sib dragged him home. But the luck did not last long as shortly after it was Tarn’s batch’s farewell day at school and, Nut and Tarn had sneaked into the gym room to exchange some loving words and kisses when one of the professors walked in on the two.

Tarn’s parents were called and, Sib reacted in a violent and inhumane way at the revelation. He asked Nut to break it off with Tarn. However, Tarn requested to see Nut for one last time, which is when Tarn handed Nut the teddy bear which is now Tofu. But, this meet was interrupted by Sib, who dragged Nut home and hit him. Even though Na tried to save Nut, it was of no help. Nut did stand up to his father and, rushed into his room and cried. This is when Tofu realizes he gained sentience as a teddy bear.

Nut refuses to take the military exam but, when Sib questions him why he took the communications one, Nut bursts out and expresses his views. He makes his decision to leave the house and, all the while, Na just stands and does nothing to protect him or support him and rather goes on to slap him when he says he is not their child. Recalling all of his painful memories of childhood to Tofu, Nut breaks down. This is when Na enters the scene overhearing how much Nut wanted her by his side but, she was unable to help him out. She apologises and, all three head back to the rooms.

Na cries in her own room as Nut shed tears on Tofu’s shoulders. Tofu tells Nut that his resistance towards Na is resisting his love as he is scared to lose someone important again. The next day starts with a focus on Gen and Song meeting up early in the morning as Song requested to talk about something important with Gen. On entering the designated cafe, Gen is taken aback by romantic decorations and more but, turns out Song has not done that for him and, Song teases him later on about it. The two sit down and Song asks Gen for clarity about if he doesn’t like younger men or is it just specific to Song.

Before Gen can answer, his ex-boyfriend, Win walks in, who is also the person responsible for the romantic decoration which he has done for his present boyfriend. Gen and Win talk as Song watches from a distance. Song is jealous and leaves as an uncomfortable Gen continues to talk to Win. Gen walks out to find an angry Song but, he explains things to Song about his situation with Win and, how the decoration is for his new boyfriend. The two move to a park where Gen talks about his relationship with Win and how he was the one who approached Win and, what lead to the relationship coming to an end.

 

Song begs Gen for a chance for them to be together as life is short and, anything can happen at any point. Ultimately, Gen agrees and Song rejoices. Meanwhile, at Nut’s house, Nut and Tofu are unable to find Na. Only after reading a note about Na heading out for a doctor’s appointment do they realize where she is. In front of the hospital when Nut and Tofu find Na, she is about to be hit by a motorbike when Nut jumps in to save her. This works as a reminder of memory from the past when Na had jumped in front of a car to save young Nut.

A wounded Nut gets his dressing done at the hospital, where he remembers how Na has always told him that it hurts her more to see Nut suffering. Asking Tofu to take Na back to the house, Nut leaves for his office. At the office, before Prib is able to show Nut the online story that Tarn posted, Nut is taken into the office by his boss who breaks down a particular scene from the script, which is inspired by Nut and Na’s relationship that we see at the beginning of the episode. Nut’s boss explains to him that his mother is not a villain in the story but, a mediator who took the step to slap her son to save him from being beaten to death by the father.

 

At the house, Na reads about Alzheimer’s but, hides away the pamphlets. She asks Tofu to read from Nut’s personal journal even though she knows it is wrong because she wants to know if Nut thinks something bad about her. Tofu reads her excerpts that make Na happy by the end. Later Tofu takes Na out on a walk when Na shares her feelings with Tofu about how Nut and Na grew distant, which was only aided by Sib’s death. She also expresses how she is happy to see Nut happy with Tofu and, that there isn’t else that she wants more for Nut.

 

We see Nut overhearing all of his conversations as he sits right behind Tofu and Na’s park bench, which Tofu later notices. On returning home late, Tofu says how they had gone for a walk and that Na is not opposed to Tofu and Nut’s relationship. Before heading to bed Tofu asks Na to dress up for the next day as they would all go shopping, Na feels happy with this plan. The Miracle of Teddy Bear Episode 11 ends with Na getting ready and coming down the stairs the next day for shopping only to find Tofu standing at the kitchen counter. The episode comes to an end as Na enquires about Nut.

The Miracle of Teddy Bear Episode 11: Final Thoughts

Overall, The Miracle of Teddy Bear Episode 11 finally helps us understand Na and Nut’s relationship better. The amount of repression these both characters have faced and how they have channelled it out gives a lot of closure to certain behavioural changes in Nut as well as Na. Tofu literally working as a 24/7 therapist to the mother and son duo, without letting things take a toll on him is commendable. At the moment as the show has only 4 episodes left, it is really disappointing to see Tarn’s murder/accident story not get any attention or progress. Apart from that the development and understanding of the interpersonal relationship between the characters is really impressive.
