The Golden Spoon episode 4 begins with an anxious Seung-cheon who is looking for the person who had sent him the message. When Ju-hee’s phone starts ringing after he calls the number, his doubts point at her and he later sneaks into the empty classroom to check her phone. However, he is caught by Ju-hee and has to tell her about the message.

That evening, his unusual habits arise doubts in Young-shin who pays close attention to him. Later, he gets a message from Ju-hee and finds out that the man who attacked her the previous night has been caught. When Ju-hee tells him that it was Oh Yeon-jin who reported the man, he starts having doubts about Yeon-jin and asks to meet the next day.

He takes Yeon-jin to visit Ju-hee’s dead friend’s mausoleum and starts talking about Na-ra while keeping an eye on Yeon-jin’s behaviour. Looking at her, he is sure that she is just like him but when she shows that she too has received the same message, his doubts vanish.

The next day it is found out to be a prank played by Jang-gun on everyone and he is scolded for that. He then points out to Tae-yong that he isn’t using the golden spoon he had been carrying lately. A memory appears in Tae-yong head and he too starts wondering about the spoon while Seung-cheon is nervous.

Later at home, Tae-yong continues to think about the spoon and wonders if he may have left it at the Hwang family home. The next day, Seung-cheon buys an apartment for his family, but knowing that the month is about to end, he wonders if he has made the right choice.

While going back home he sees Lee Chul being scolded by the contractor and goes to stop him. He then questions Lee Chul why he started working so late and leaves but not until Lee Chul asks him to hide this from his son.

That evening, Seung-cheon is given a treat by Ju-hee who has gotten her first paycheck. On the other hand, Tae-yong has arrived at the Hwang house for his golden spoon.

Young-shin receives Tae-yong and notices that his habits are similar to Tae-yong’s while Ju-hee opens up about the real Tae-yong’s past in front of Seung-cheon. Seung-cheon is surprised by this but plays it cool.

On the other hand, Tae-yong is taken to his room to wait for Seung-cheon, but while he is looking around, he finds the golden spoon. Meanwhile, Seung-cheon tells Ju-hee that he will not be breaking off the engagement and requests for her to stay as his fiance because he is sure to win her heart.

Then upon reaching home, he finds out that Tae-yong is in his room and hurries there only to find Tae-yong with the spoon. He snatches the spoon from his hand and claims it to be his. This angers Tae-yong but as he starts leaving, Seung-cheon remembers Ju-hee’s words and sends him off with his medication.

However, Tae-yong is stopped by Hyun-do while leaving which puts him into a state of panic as he runs away. He then calls Lee Chul who hurries over to find him suffocating due to anxiety and very skilfully calms him down.

Elsewhere, Young-shin shares her observation with Hyun-do and tells him that they need to be careful of “Seung-cheon” while showing him the documents of the apartment bought by Seung-cheon.

Hyun-so then later questions Moon-ki who tells him the “Tae-yong” only pities “Seung-cheon”. The next day, Yeong-jin meets Jang-gun who asks her what she has been planning for “Tae-yong” and it is revealed that she is the one behind the message. She tells him to wait patiently and leaves.

Following this, it is also known that she was the one who recorded Tae-yong and Seung-cheon the night these two were fighting and also reported this to the police. It is also revealed that she is none other than Jeong Na-ra.

Elsewhere, Moo-ki has come for a haircut at the salon where Seung-a works in order to lure her into buying the apartment bought by Seung-cheon for cheap. On the other hand, Young-shin’s brother Seo Joon-tae arrives at the Hwang house, but having no recollection of the man, Seung-cheon ends up calling him brother.

He treats him normally and holds up a conversation, however, while the two are alone Joon-tae strangles Seung-cheon and threatens him which induces fear in Seung-cheon. He then runs over to his house and sees his family having a happy time with Tae-yong, he cannot help feeling sad and nostalgic.

The Golden Spoon episode 4 ends with things getting more dangerous at work for Lee Chul the next day. Seung-cheon notices that the one-month time period has come to an end and decides to continue living as Hwang Tae-yong. At school, Tae-yong asks him if he bought the apartment for his family in exchange for Ju-hee and given no better reason Seung-cheon agrees to it.

Tae-yong tells him that Ju-hee will not like Seung-cheon just because he lets go of her, but the latter refutes that as long as he is poor he will never be able to win against him. Seung-cheon then tells him that if he is given a chance then Tae-yong will definitely give up his parents for richer parents.

This angers Tae-yong and he tells him that he will never give up on his parents just because of materialistic things and even Seung-cheon’s reality check won’t do anything because living with his parents is much better.

Before the conversation could go further, Ju-hee interrupts them and shoves Tae-yong his phone. He is told that Lee Chul has been in an accident and has been taken into the ER which makes him and Seung-cheon panic. The two then rush to the hospital and Seung-cheon cannot help but call out “Dad” to Lee Chul. This is witnessed by Hyun-do.

The scene shifts and shows us Jeong Na-ra past which reveals how she went from Jeong Na-ra to Oh Yeon-jin, who was suffering from a disease when the exchange happened.

Looks like the story has finally begun from here and while it did get quite exciting towards the end of today’s episode, it is next week’s episode that I am looking forward to.

Now that Seung-cheon has witnessed the dangers that come along with this power and money, it will be interesting to see the choices he makes from now on. On the other hand, if Tae-yong retains his memories of his time as Seung-cheon then too wouldn’t be able to let go of his cravings for a family.

The ending really got us excited today and we are looking forward to how the story will go from now. Have the two exchanged lives once again? Will Tae-yong find out about the golden spoon? What does Na-ra really want to achieve?
