Recap Korean Drama "Little Women" Episode 9

Little Women episode 9 starts off with In-ju pointing the gun at Sang-a but right then the latter’s men enter and suppress In-ju who is muddleheaded due to the blue orchid tea. Sang-a is then ready to kill her and does not care about the money, but right then Do-il breaks in and connects her to Jae-sang who is on call.

Jae-sang tells her that In-kyung is sitting right next to him with the ledgers that contain details of their trillions of property which she has brought to him in exchange for her sister’s life. Sang-a is left with no choice but to give up on killing In-ju and leaves from there.

In-kyung on the other hand confront Jae-sang about the ledgers and finds out that the senior she has always looked up to is also a part of the Jeongran Society. As she watches the ledgers burn in front of her along with her dreams of exposing Jae-sang, she can’t get over the feeling of betrayal.

On the other hand, Do-il is taking care of In-ju who apologises for her behaviour but Do-il tells her that it is his fault for not expecting her betrayal. In-ju tells him that it is not because she didn’t trust him but because her wish to see Hwa-young was so strong that she couldn’t stop herself. She then tells him the location of the money.

In-ju then continuously tells him to give her share to her sisters before falling unconscious. Elsewhere, In-kyung rushes to her senior’s office and asks him if he is a part of the Jeongran Society. He tells her that the world is not easy to survive in, but when he took the oath to society and became a part of it, life became a lot easier and it became safer for him to survive.

In-kyung is shocked by this and breaks off her tie with the once revered senior. On the hand, Hyo-rin is still unable to believe in her mother’s truth and doesn’t know what to do. In-ju suggests running away from there and going off on a trip to Japan, followed by Russia, Finland and so on. The girls are excited and ready to implement their plan the next day.

In-kyung is still depressed about the situation and is having a drink with Jong-ho who asks her to move away with him to the U.S. This reminds her of the past when he decided to go to the U.S because he had nothing better to do and reminded her of how nice it was to have money. Jong-ho realises that his words were the reason their relationship took a toll.

He apologises for his words and tells her that he must have confessed his feelings for her directly instead. In-kyung is shocked by this and tells him that this is not love but just his dependence on her because of the things they went through together. Love is supposed to be exciting and not so peaceful like the way she feels around him and leaves from there.

She goes back home and calls Choi Hee-jae to apologise for not being able to put him on the news. He doesn’t mind it and lets her know of his plans to kill Jae-sang which makes her want to be a part of it too. She then gets a message and the scene shifts to In-ju who wakes up the next day.

She is shocked by Do-il’s presence but soon wakes up and joins him for breakfast. He explains his escape plans for her and lets her know that this is where they part because while she will soon be forgotten by Sang-a the same can’t be said for him. She is uneasy thinking about not being in touch with him but is unable to do anything about it.

On the other hand, Sang-a comes back home with gifts for Hyo-rin and the two share a happy moment while the latter hides her plan for the day behind her smile. Jae-sang soon joins them and after the girls leave, Sang-a takes him elsewhere and tells him to kill In-kyung while seducing him.

While leaving, Jae-sang orders Soo-im to get rid of In-kyung by the end of the day and she soon arranges for people to break into In-kyung’s house. At the airport, Jong-ho informs In-ju about In-kyung’s disappearance and worries that something has happened to her.

This worries In-ju and she makes the decision to go back to South Korea instead of following Do-il’s plans. Do-il tells her to plan before going back but she only tells him that she trusts him and wants him to give her share to her sisters because she is going back with her life on the line.

Hyo-rin is practising for the play and waits for In-hye to enter but notices that the latter has gone missing and realises that In-hye has left her behind to escape herself. This shocks her into getting an attack and fainting. Back at home, upon waking up Sang-a asks her why In-hye has left for Japan with her money and bonds.

Hyo-rin tells her that she has sent In-hye on a trip to see the world. The scene then shifts to In-hye waking up in a familiar yet unfamiliar room. She walks around the room and soon realises that it is similar to Sang-a’s model and sees the words “Run Away” written in blood inside the wardrobe.

Just then, Sang-a enters the room and tells her that she has informed Hyo-rin of her escape to Japan. In-hye then tells her that she knows about Sang-a’s mother being locked up in her and this is the “Closed Room” that she had written about. She asks if she too will be found hanging in the wardrobe while talking about what a sight it would be to paint that image.

Elsewhere, In-ju is worried about In-kyung but soon gets a call from the psychiatric hospital asking her about their escaped patient “In-ju”. She finds out that In-kyung had entered the hospital under her name in order to meet Won Sang-woo and is relieved that her sister is safe.

It is revealed that Sang-woo was the one who messaged In-kyung and had revealed everything about Jae-sang. That is when In-kyung decided to meet him in person to make him speak about this in front of everyone.

Little Women episode 9 ends with In-ju seeing Im-soo enter the hospital and finds out that she is looking for In-kyung. She has to warn In-kyung about this and has no choice but to attract Im-soo’s attention and escape to the terrace. On the way there, she shouts in the corridor of Sang-woo’s room and tells her to escape.

In-ju and Jong-ho then lock the terrace door and set a trap for Im-soo who enters the terrace alone and is beaten up by In-ju who takes her revenge on her. However, Im-soo’s men break into the terrace and suppress the two after which they lock them in the basement of the hospital.

In-kyung succeeds in escaping with Sang-woo and reaches a deserted road where Hee-jae arrives to pick them up. He lets her know that someone has been sent to save In-ju and that she doesn’t need to worry about her sister’s safety.

Back at the hospital, Do-il breaks in and throws smoke bombs everywhere before making his way to In-ju and rescuing her along with Jong-ho. He then takes them back to Hee-jae’s place and the two sisters reunite. Jong-ho then breaks into their conversation and hugs In-kyung and tells her that he is okay with the peace that they share and that is all he wants.

The group then gets inside and Hee-jae speaks of his plans to kill Jae-sang and Do-il adds that it is important to kill him if they want to live a normal life. But In-kyung tells him that with Sang-woo with them, they can try to make it breaking news without having to kill Jae-sang. But Hee-jae is determined to go through with his plan either way.

Right then, In-ju asks In-kyung about In-hye and they realise that they haven’t been in contact with their sister for quite some time now. This gets them panicked and Do-il decides to make his way to Jae-sang’s house with In-ju following after him.

Elsewhere, Jae-sang is angered by Im-soo’s incompetence but is interrupted by a call from none other than Sang-woo himself. He tells Jae-sang that he wants to escape somewhere far away and needs his help with an id and money and tells him to meet at a place they once shared memory.

Jae-sang agrees and makes his way there along with Im-soo and her men. While looking from afar, Jae-sang continues to wait for Sang-woo so that Im-soo can capture him but right then Sang-woo appear behind him with a gun pointing at Jae-sang.

Little Women Episode 9 Review

Once again this show has left me wanting more and with a happy heart which hasn’t been disappointed by the plot till now. As the show is slowly reaching its end, it is definitely getting more tense and serious.

Today’s scene stealer has to be Hyo-rin and In-hye being trapped by Sang-a. Sang-a has definitely proven herself to be a worthy villain and I am hoping that her end (which is obviously going to come) doesn’t disappoint us either. Going from being shocked by In-hye’s betrayal to finding her in that room was a feeling that I cannot forget and it was totally worth it.

I’m pretty sure that Hyo-rin doesn’t believe that In-hye has left her behind and will most probably be the one to rescue In-hye.

On the other hand, Jong-ho’s confession is finally here and I can hear all the shippers out there screaming. Though In-kyung didn’t fail to splash us with some water, that hug towards the end cannot be forgotten.

Speaking about shippers, I can also hear the Do-il and In-ju shipper screaming at the lovely sight of the couple having their breakfast before the former decided to throw his bomb. But that didn’t stop his heroic rescue of In-ju so that makes up for it.

Another thing to add is the satisfaction of In-ju beating up Im-soo that can be felt by everyone watching the show and we are loving this new In-ju who is badass.

Altogther, this show has given us another amazing episode and while I want to know how it will end, I don’t want to say goodbye to it so soon.
