Well, fans, if you thought you wouldn’t be able to see the last scene from the last episode again, then you’re in for a surprise! Link: Eat Love Kill episode 10 starts with some more smooching as we see the aftermath of Gye-hoon and Da-hyun finally kissing each other.
After an emotional and warm kiss, the two realise what they have done, and she immediately tells him that she did not return for this. Awkward, Gye-hoon apologises, and she asks him for what? Things getting more awkward at this point, Da-hyun tells him that he did well, confusing Gye-hoon even more. She compliments him, saying that he kissed very well, much to Gye-hoon’s delight, but when Jin-hu walks in on him holding her face, they just can’t help but be embarrassed.

Anyway, after she leaves the restaurant, she has a memory of what Jin-geun was saying all of a sudden. As she walks down the empty road to the alley when Jin-geun appeared before her for the first time, she has a vague memory of her playing with a young Jin-geun and then finding her young self in front of a red door with him – a memory that fills her with dread.
Gye-hoon feels the same dread as her and immediately calls her, asking whether she’s ok. As he’s about to disconnect the call, she asks him to keep talking to her until she reaches home. Confused about what to talk about, Da-hyun asks him to simply keep the phone on him, near his ear.
He sees her going inside her house after a while and looks somewhat heartbroken to disconnect the call – Gye-hoon almost looks like he’s in love! However, the fear of the red door does not leave Da-hyun alone, and she wonders what to do about these memories that are resurfacing right now – is there a connection between Gye-young’s case and her?
The scary thoughts, however, go away when she thinks about her kiss with Gye-hoon throughout the night.

The next morning after an uncomfortable discussion with her family, where her mother calls Gye-hoon cocky, Da-hyun gets ready to go to work looking like she’s the CEO of a company. Gye-hoon, however, is too preoccupied with Jin-geun to notice the effort and is somewhat short with her. Da-hyun takes his preoccupation as uninterest and feels like he’s running away from what he started.
Eun-jung comes back to the restaurant finally, and he discusses where Jin-geun can be with her, wondering whether he’s trying to run away or something happened to him. That conversation is cut short when Jin-hu comes to the backyard with their dog, and Da-hyun makes a snarky comment about the latter’s name suggestion.
He goes to talk to her about it, and she asks him straight away why he’s being mean after kissing her. She calls him a coward for running away and asks him what he wants to do now. He mentions that although he wasn’t planning on falling for anyone, she came into his life and changed everything. So, he will try his best to not act like this and will also continue to make delicious food for her.

After the misunderstanding is dealt with, the two are back to giggling around each other again as spring comes back into their life.
After a rather sweet and warm moment with Gye-hoon, Da-hyun goes off on a jog, telling her grandmother that she would rather look into her nightmares instead of letting her imagination run wild. Running through rows of houses, she starts to try and find where the red door can be and finds a door which looks like the one in her nightmares, only this time it’s blue. She dismisses this one to be the one she is searching for, but I mean, you can paint doors, and after 20 years, it’s a strong possibility.
Anyway, Gye-hoon talks to Young-hun, who last saw Gye-young alive. They try to speak, but he eventually promises to meet him at his restaurant, and Gye-hoon goes back home with Da-hyun, who is out on a run. The two cannot stop smiling around each other, and Eun-jung and Jin-hu can’t stop poking fun at them.
However, Da-hyun’s family isn’t all too happy about Da-hyun’s growing closeness with Gye-hoon, and it turns out that Chun-ok went inside the house with the red door maybe around when Da-hyun was having those nightmares when she was young.
The next day, Gye-hoon gets a call from Jin-geun’s number and rushes to the police station, where he gets to know that his phone, wiped clean of everything, was discarded in some alley and the only contact was Gye-hoon’s. Unable to get any other information, he leaves the phone there and asks Won-tak to meet him later. Back at the restaurant, Gye-hoon and Da-hyun realise that tracking Jin-geun wouldn’t be as easy as they thought.

That night, Gye-hoon asks Won-tak to check all the CCTVs around the area in which the phone was found and fills him in about what he knows about Jin-geun’s whereabouts so far. However, Won-tak doesn’t seem really interested in getting into it and tells him that he’s uninterested to get involved with him. Gye-hoon asks him when he will stop being a coward and invites him to find out the truth with him.
Meanwhile, Young-hun comes to the restaurant and chooses to tell Da-hyun everything he saw, unable to face Gye-hoon himself. On the other hand, Gye-hoon and Won-tak meet Jung-ho and tell him their theories about who could’ve killed Gye-young.
Jung-ho and Young-hun both tell their side of the story, one where Eui-chan wasn’t the person who could’ve kidnapped Gye-young. Young-hun was forced to give his statement, and that night, Eui-chan was working as a waiter at a karaoke bar, and the blood on his clothes was from a fight at the bar. However, in spite of no evidence against him, Young-hwan’s insistence about it spread rumours that further vindicated him.

Won-tak feels immense guilt for the way that he has treated his father throughout his life and plans to end Young-hwan that night. However, Gye-hoon catches up to him and reminds him that it’s not too late to ask for forgiveness yet and that he should go talk to his father. Unfortunately, it’s not the same for him – he can’t apologise even if he wants to.
On his way home, Won-tak comes across Min-jo and starts crying. He mentions that he’s glad that she’s here and that he wants to see her. She asks him what’s going on but he hugs her and she comforts him as he cries into her shoulder.
Meanwhile, Da-hyun finds Gye-hoon setting on the floor in the restaurant and immediately puts his head on her shoulder, weaving his fingers with hers. They agree to drop the honorifics and spend a moment cuddling each other. In her room, Da-hyun isn’t able to think about anything other than Gye-hoon.
Out on another jog the next morning, Da-hyun realises that she hasn’t come across any red gates on any of her days out. She wonders whether she was simply dreaming or not, but that night, after staying at the library for too long, her nightmares become a reality.

Jin-geun finally comes out of hiding and accosts her in the deserted library, asking her whether she reported him. Not getting a straight answer, he mentions that it must have been her since everyone else “who knew” is dead. Instead of elaborating further on this cryptic sentence, he asks her why she wants to meet her. Getting the chance, she asks him where he disappeared that night after speaking with Gye-hoon, which triggers him into almost hitting her.
Composing himself, he tells her that she and Gye-hoon can never be together, and she will find out the reason soon enough. As he’s about to leave, she asks him whether they went to a house together 18 years ago. However, his answer cements the reality for her – the red gate was real.
As the police and Gye-hoon arrive, the former assures her that they will look into it, while Gye-hoon blames himself for her reaching out to him. However, Da-hyun tells him that that’s not it and then opens up about knowing Gye-young and possibly also seeing her for the last time.

Ok guys, I want to know why Da-hyun was so easy to dismiss that blue door house even though, I am guessing, painting doors is as easy in Korea as it is here? I don’t get it – that door looks exactly the same; changing the paint isn’t a big deal! Trying to add mystery in this particular way is just silly and makes Da-hyun look stupid.
Anyway, other than this one bit of issue, Link: Eat Love Kill episode 10 is absolutely heartbreaking and thrilling. Eui-chan has been in frame all of 15 minutes in 9 episodes and my heart already breaks for the poor man. Lee Gye-hoe, who was previously the exact opposite of this character in Beyond Evil, another show he worked with Yeo Jin-goo, just does a phenomenal job of bringing the quiet devastation of Eui-chan to light.
Meanwhile, Yeo Jin-goo continues to impress with his desperate need to solve this horrible puzzle and bring justice to light. His sister’s disappearance has broken several homes and devastated an entire neighbourhood – it’s evident that he would want to figure out what the hell happened now that he’s old enough to do so himself. Jin-goo is great, both in emotionally charged and romantic scenes; watching him laugh after seeing the sadness that he holds in his heart is great.
Storywise, Link: Eat Love Kill episode 10 goes from romance to seriously evil to comforting in waves. It opens with a fan-favourite scene and goes to some really horrible depths and then gives us a moment to take a breath. By far the most interesting revelation, the one that I am personally waiting for, is that of Da-hyun’s past.
Jin-geun keeps mentioning that she had more of a role to play than anyone knows and I wonder what that might be. Did she kill her? Did her mother? Did someone force her to do something awful? What is going on? Guess we’ll have to wait for the next episode to find out.
