Recap "Forecasting Love and Weather" Episode 10 with Park Min Young, Song Kang

Forecasting Love and Weather episode 10 opens on an awkward and hilarious note. We see Ha-kyung’s mother visiting her and, finding out that Lee Si-woo and Um Dong-han live with her. Ha-kyung rushes home but, by then her mother has already interrogated her two forecasters and is not happy with the arrangement. Ha-kyung keeps explaining to her mother about the situation and needing the help of her forecasters being a rookie director but, her mother considers her a halfwit, especially when she gets to know that Ha-kyung pays all the home bills.

Ha-kyung’s mother also expresses her liking towards Assitant Director Shin at the beginning of the episode, when she meets him in the elevator alongside Si-woo. Later, Si-woo and Dong-wan discuss this matter to which the former gets defensive about Shin and Ha-kyung would never make for a nice couple. Ha-Kyung’s mother, meanwhile, coaxes her about warming up to Shin, before Ha-Kyung sends her off home.

On returning back to her apartment, Ha-Kyung and Si-woo sit down for a drink when, Ha-Kyung reveals that she met with reporter Chae and, asks Si-woo about his stance on marriage. The duo discusses the potentiality of their relationship and where they are heading. While in bed, both individuals contemplate their feelings for each other.

Being titled Tropical Night, the episode is quick in letting us know that it is swelling hot in the city. And, even though it rained (as goes by the previous episode title) things haven’t cooled down for the weather and, we know the same tension and heat applies for our characters too.

The episode constantly flips at marriage references. We see Ha-kyung and Si-woo get caught off guard with a ‘three things to need when married’ commercial which they switch off immediately. Later in the elevator, we meet Asst. Director Shin again and, Si-woo makes sure he is the one standing beside Shin, so there is no contact between him and Ha-kyung. On the other hand, Ha-kyung’s mother is seen loading up on groceries to make good kimchi, which of course is revealed as some part of her plan to get Ha-kyung hooked up with Shin.

In the lobby of the office, we see Yu-jin encounter a senior journalist lurking for some scoop at the KMA. Yu-jin is directed by her superior to keep a close eye on him. As for the weather reports, the team meeting reveals the bouts of hotness to overwhelm people in the coming days. After the meeting, Ha-kyung approaches Ki-jun to talk over coffee. Ha-kyung asks Ki-jun about how married life is and, even though initially taken aback, Ki-jun lets her know both the hard work as well as the cherished moments that come with marriage.

A similar line of conversation is shared between Yu-jin and Si-woo in the next scene after Yu-jin misleads and pulls the leg of the pesky journalist lurking in the building. Yu-jin reveals how and what lead to the relationship between her and Si-woo falling apart, which leaves the latter thinking over it until a weather crisis strikes. It turns out to be an error on the part of Assistant Director Oh, this gives the scoop of journalist has been looking for and, the window for Ha-kyung and Oh to talking.

During their conversation, Ha-kyung gets to know more directly how much married life has been stressful for Asst. Director Oh that it not only did not give her the promotion she wanted but, also is now making her do trivial mistakes. Her word of advice to Ha-kyung is to not get married and rather live a carefree life.

We also meet Bo-mi, Dong-han’s daughter in this episode when she is on a school trip to KMA. The father-daughter duo exchange some nice words but, later we find out Dong-han’s wife is dissatisfied with her daughter’s decision to go to KMA to which Bo-mi demands answers for her father’s priority to career and neglect over his family.

Ha-kyung’s mother’s scheme to check on Shin continues to find out if he is a potential fit for her daughter. During the execution of her plan of sending in Tae-kyung into Shin’s house, she meets Si-woo, who invites her to Ha-kyung’s apartment. Ha-kyung’s not happy to see her mother but, before her mother can leave she gets to know the entire plan of Tae-kyung being at Shin’s apartment. On other hand, Tae-kyung discovers her book at Shin’s apartment which sends off a few sparks flying.

Ha-kyung announces to her mother that she is not going to get married, so her mother can stop with all the set-ups. Shocked, Ha-kyung mother leaves but, is accompanied by Si-woo to board a cab when she states that the hot weather is sweltering because it matches the temperament of people in today’s era. On returning to the apartment, Ha-kyung tells Si-woo how his stance on marriage is what she thinks is the right choice for her too.

The next day things go haywire with the Butcher Heo printing on the portal error and calling KMA demeaning words. This tenses the scenario in the office and, Director Jin is questioned. Ki-jun assumes that the information leak about the portal was supplied by his wife, Yu-jin, who he saw interacting with the reporter the previous day. Without knowing the entire story, he lashes out on her to which she questions their marriage and its integrity of it.

Back in the office, Ha-kyung is asked to operate the team more crucially and, is asked by the General Director who she would like to take to the typhoon centre trip coming up. The episode ends with Ha-kyung offering the work assignment to Si-woo and, Yu-jin leaving Ki-jun.

Final Thoughts: Forecasting Love and Weather Episode 10

Forecasting Love and Weather episode 10 get really serious on the office love leading to marriage and, marriages leading to their eventual end. Ha-kyung’s changing stance has sent Si-woo in thoughts and, things are as bumpy as ever for Yu-jin and Ki-jun. The intensity of this episode makes up for a good deal of anticipation of what is in store for the next episode.
