Producer And Rapper Kush Receives Prison Sentence For Cocaine Use
Mar 18, 2019
The results from Kush’s first trial for cocaine use were revealed.
On March 18, the Seoul Central District Court sentenced Kush to two years and six months in prison and suspended the sentence for four years. He was given 80 hours of probation and drug treatment, as well as a fine of 875,000 won (approximately $772).
The court stated, “Drug-related crimes are very dangerous because they can cause great harm to the individual and society as a whole due to the addictive nature [of drugs]. However, because he admits to his crime and sincerely reflects on himself, his sentence will be suspended for the last time.”
In late 2017, Kush purchased 2.5 grams of cocaine from an acquaintance and inhaled the drug in his house. In December of the same year, he attempted to pick up another batch of cocaine in a mailbox and was apprehended by police officers who were staking out the building. When questioned by the police about his reasons for using the drugs, he stated that he had been suffering from depression.
Meanwhile, Kush is the producer behind several hit songs, such as 2NE1’s “I Don’t Care,” Zion.T’s “Yanghwa Bridge,” and many more.
