Park Ji Hoon, Yoo Hae Jin, Yoo Ji Tae, and Lee Jun Hyuk will be teaming up for an upcoming film by popular director Jang Hang Jun!
On October 10, YTN Star reported that Park Ji Hoon has been cast in the historical film “The Man Who Lives with the King” (literal title).
A representative from Park Ji Hoon’s side confirmed the casting, adding that while the news is true, they are “being cautious as the production team has yet to release an official statement.”
However, on October 9, director Jang Hang Jun personally revealed the cast lineup on the YouTube channel VIVO TV, confirming that Yoo Hae Jin, Yoo Ji Tae, Lee Jun Hyuk, and Park Ji Hoon will all star in the film.
“The Man Who Lives with the King” tells the story of King Danjong, the sixth king of the Joseon Dynasty, following his exile to Yeongwol, Gangwon Province. This film also marks director Jang Hang Jun’s first foray into the historical genre.
Park Ji Hoon will portray King Danjong, while Yoo Hae Jin will take on the title role of “the man who lives with the king.”
Though the specific roles of Yoo Ji Tae and Lee Jun Hyuk remain under wraps, their involvement adds to the excitement. This will be Lee Jun Hyuk’s first appearance in a historical film (aside from a special cameo), and Yoo Ji Tae’s first in 17 years since “Hwang Jini” in 2007. Moreover, this also marks another reunion for Lee Jun Hyuk and Yoo Ji Tae, who last worked together on the Disney+ series “Vigilante.”
“The Man Who Lives with the King” is set to begin filming early next year. Stay tuned for more updates!
