KBS 2TV’s upcoming drama “Love Song for Illusion” has unveiled character posters for Park Ji Hoon, Hong Ye Ji, Hwang Hee, and Ji Woo!
Based on a popular webtoon, “Love Song for Illusion” is a historical fantasy romance that follows both the heart-fluttering love story and the fierce obsession of a man with two conflicting personalities and the woman who loves him.
Park Ji Hoon will play the dual roles of Crown Prince Sajo Hyun and his alter ego Ak Hee. With his beautiful looks and intelligent mind, Sajo Hyun is a character who uses his innate artistic sense to work as a fashion designer at a downtown boutique while hiding his identity as the crown prince. He has a wound deep down in his heart from his childhood due to his oppressive father Sajo Seung.
Sajo Hyun’s other persona, Ak Hee, is a charming character who can easily attract people, but he is cursed to feel extreme pain when he makes physical contact with others.
The first set of posters offers a glimpse of the stark difference between Crown Prince Sajo Hyun and Ak Hee. The contrasting colors represent the contrast between the two personalities: the white poster captures the gentle and warm Crown Prince Sajo Hyun, while the black poster depicts his alter ego, Ak Hee.
Hong Ye Ji will star as Yeon Wol, who lives a life full of twists and turns, going from an assassin to a concubine. Yeon Wol is the royal descendant of the fallen Yeon Dynasty and the only daughter of Yeon Poong Hak. She hides her identity and becomes assassin Gye Ra to avenge her family, but inadvertently ends up becoming the crown prince’s concubine.
In her poster, Yeon Wol wears vibrant red attire and a charismatic expression on her face. The caption on the poster hints at her determination to avenge her family, reading, “I’ve been waiting for this day. I’ll take your life.”
Hwang Hee will play Sajo Hyun’s half brother Sajo Yung, while Ji Woo will play crown princess Geum Hwa.
Their posters, captioned “I am now the king” and “I will surely become the empress” respectively, hint at Sajo Yung and Geum Hwa’s ambition and hidden desires.
The production team of “Love Song for Illusion” commented, “We wanted to use vivid colors and the phrases on the posters to reveal the characters’ desires. In particular, we wanted to use contrasting colors to effectively show the acting transformation of Park Ji Hoon, who plays the dual roles of crown prince Sajo and his alter ego Ak Hee.”
They concluded, “We hope viewers will anticipate the premiere of the drama while trying to deduce the stories of the characters in the posters.”
“Love Song for Illusion” is set to premiere in January 2024. Stay tuned!
