“Doctor Slump” tells the love story of two former rivals who reunite and unexpectedly become each other’s light during the darkest period of their lives. Park Hyung Sik plays Yeo Jung Woo, a star plastic surgeon whose thriving career suddenly falls into danger due to a strange medical accident, while Park Shin Hye plays Nam Ha Neul, a workaholic anesthesiologist suffering from burnout syndrome.

On the previous episode of “Doctor Slump,” Yeo Jung Woo bought an engagement ring in the hopes of proposing to Nam Ha Neul, but he wound up putting it off for a variety of reasons. After struggling to find the right timing to pop the question, Yeo Jung Woo ultimately lost the chance to surprise Nam Ha Neul when she accidentally stumbled upon the drawer filled with jewelry that he’d bought for her.

However, what seemed like a ruined surprise turned into an opportunity for Yeo Jung Woo to finally propose—and the episode ended with the couple sharing a romantic kiss.

In newly released stills from the drama’s upcoming finale, Nam Ha Neul and Yeo Jung Woo go out to dinner after his proposal. As Nam Ha Neul hasn’t yet given an answer to his question, the tension is palpable as the two eat dinner together. Although Yeo Jung Woo smiles warmly at Nam Ha Neul, there is something sad about his gaze, while Nam Ha Neul seems to be nervously checking his reaction to something she’s just said.

However, the next set of photos captures the couple happily holding hands on the beach, making viewers hopeful that they will be able to find their happy ending—even if Nam Ha Neul is about to go abroad for six months.

The “Doctor Slump” production team teased, “As befits the Woo-Neul couple, who overcame the slump and burnout that caused them to face the worst moment of their lives, the drama’s story will bring viewers joy and make their hearts flutter up until the very end.”

They went on to add, “We hope that the final episode will be full of healing for the viewers who watched [our drama] while laughing, crying, and feeling their hearts race together with Nam Ha Neul and Yeo Jung Woo.”
