Episode 4 of Oh! Youngsim begins with Young-sim agreeing to work with Kyeong-tae on a new dating show. Chief warns her that it is her last chance and gives them 10 days to start the show.
They step out of Chief’s office and immediately start yelling and arguing with each other. Kyeong-tae tells Young-sim that he is giving her three days to come up with a show idea, even though they are supposed to work together.
Chae-dong watches the Oh! Youngsim episode of Kyeong-tae rescuing Young-sim from drowning. He wonders how much of the show is fictional and regrets ever suggesting casting the Kingvely CEO.
Outside Young-sim’s house, Jin-sim hands Chae-dong some food for him to bring to Young-sim, and Young-sim’s dad, Oh Dae-gwang, steps outside. Chae-dong says, “Hello, father,” and Dae-gwang lies and tells Chae-dong that he never told him to call him that.
Inside, Jin-sim complains and asks Dae-gwang why he was being mean to Chae-dong. He replies that Kyeong-tae is his son-in-law now. Soon-sim mentions that she isn’t so sure about Kyeong-tae because everyone at work says he holds grudges.
Chae-dong recalls the first time he met Young-sim: He was at a bus stop and forgot his wallet at home. Late to an interview, he begins asking strangers to help him with the fare, promising that he will pay them back. Young-sim walks up and pays for his fare, encourages him, and straightens his tie.
Chae-dong brings Young-sim the food and tries to ask her about her history with Kyeong-tae, but all of their co-workers rush into the room to eat, ruining his chances.
Young-sim shows up at Kyeogn-tae’s home, and they discuss ideas for the dating show. Kyeong-tae asks her what the core elements would be for the show, and she replies that honesty and people knowing how they feel about one another. When she asks why Kyeong-tae joined the first dating show, he replies with another question: why did she choose him at the end of the show? She starts to answer but suddenly pulls Kyeong-tae down, away from a large shelf that is about to fall on him.
Now at a hospital, Young-sim and Kyeong-tae consult a doctor, who says that Young-sim has bruising and that Kyeong-tae has a concussion and will need someone to look after him. Young-sim’s family rushes into the hospital, full of concern. Once they learn that Kyeong-tae has no one to look after him, everyone except Young-sim insists that he come stay at their house.
On the drive to the Oh family house, Kyeong-tae says that he doesn’t remember the accident. But Young-sim silently recalls someone pulling him hard down against another wall and a jar falling on his head.
Chae-dong tries to call Young-sim, but she doesn’t answer. Concerned, he visits Young-sim’s home the next day to find Kyeong-tae sitting on the Oh family’s couch. Chae-dong joins them for lunch, and in classic male rivalry, Kyeong-tae and Chae-dong make a show of who can eat the most. The two act coldly toward each other until Chae-dong finally leaves. As he goes, he runs into Ji-yoo and asks her for a favor.
Meanwhile, Wol-sook plots to have Kyeong-tae come on her YouTube channel. She calls Young-sim and asks if she knows what Kyeong-tae is up to, and Young-sim says that he is at her house.
Wol-sook shows up at Young-sim’s house, and Chae-dong appears with something for Young-sim.
Inside, Young-sim, wrapped in a towel, gets out of the tub to find that Kyeong-tae has walked into the bathroom and has started taking off his clothes. She falls on top of him, and the two scream into each other’s faces in surprise!
Despite the fact that there are a handful of cliché scenes in this episode, it still manages to be pretty funny and entertaining. But they are really dragging out the opportunity for Young-sim and Kyeong-tae to have a heart-to-heart about the past.
There are few hints as to what this new romance might look like, but whatever it is, it seems like Wol-sook will likely worm her way into it.
