Main Vocalist Of Boy Group Melts Hearts With His Voice On “The King Of Mask Singer”
Jan 27, 2019
“Metal Boy” has wowed the audience and panelists on “The King of Mask Singer.”
The January 27 episode of the show followed four contestants on their second and third rounds. “Metal Boy,” who impressed last week during his first round duet, sang Im Chang Jung’s “There Has Never Been A Day I Haven’t Loved You” and Park Hyo Shin’s “Beautiful Tomorrow.”
The king during the episode, “Eagle,” who has kept the title for the past four challenges, watched the third round performances and shared, “I don’t think I’ll be able to hold the title for five times in a row. But I want to reply with a good performance. I’m confident.”
The panelists also praised “Metal Boy” on his singing. Composer Yoo Young Suk shared, “‘Metal Boy’ showed us a carefree side, as if he’d won the title of king five times. He took on the third round with a difficult song. He’s shown us the class of the third round with his skills and guts.” Hwang Chi Yeol commented, “[His] confidence in doing what he does regardless of the competition stood out.”
Spoiler
“Burning Widow” beat “Metal Boy” in the third round with 67 to 32 votes. However, the audience cheered when it was revealed that “Metal Boy” was VIXX’s Ken. This marked his second time on the show as a contestant, as he previously took on the challenge in 2015.
Ken remarked, “I wanted to show that I had improved. To be honest, I wanted to be king. There haven’t been any male idols [who have been king]. I was determined to, but it was meaningful in the challenge alone.”
