Netflix’s upcoming drama “Black Knight” has announced its premiere date!
Based on a webtoon, “Black Knight” takes place in 2071 when pollution has become so severe that people can’t survive without respirators. The series tells the story that unfolds as legendary deliveryman 5-8 meets refugee Sa Wol, who dreams of becoming a deliveryman because they are the refugees’ only hope, and their struggle against Chun Myung Group, an organization that is eager to rule the world with their vicious cruelty.
Kim Woo Bin will be playing the legendary delivery knight 5-8 who no one can oppose. Song Seung Heon will take on the role of villain Ryu Seok, the only son of Chun Myung Group chairman Ryu Hae Jin. Kang You Seok will portray refugee Sa Wol, who is envious of the legendary 5-8 and determined to become a delivery knight himself. Esom will be playing Seol Ah, a major of the military intelligence who looks after Sa Wol like family.
The newly released poster previews the legendary delivery knight 5-8 getting off his vehicle and approaching with a box in his hands. On the box is the logo of Chun Myung Group as the poster hints at what’s inside with the text above that reads, “Oxygen is now out for delivery.” As Korea undergoes desertification, the remaining 1 percent of humanity has become stratified, and deliverymen have come to play an extremely important role in society. Against the backdrop of a desolate world covered in sand and dust, the delivery knight now has to risk his own life to save his country.
Ahead of the series’s release, Kim Woo Bin shared his excitement and remarked, “The process of working for this [drama] was truly delightful. I hope this drama, which is the precious result of our [hard work], will be well accepted, and I hope you can happily enjoy it.”
“Black Knight” is set to premiere on May 12. Stay tuned!
