SBS’s upcoming Friday-Saturday drama “Those Who Read Hearts of Evil” (literal translation) released new stills of Kim Nam Gil and Jin Sun Kyu!
Set in the late 1990s, “Those Who Read Hearts of Evil” is a drama based on the first criminal profiler in South Korea, who looked into the hearts of serial killers at a time when random, motiveless murders were on the rise.
Kim Nam Gil plays Song Ha Young and Jin Sun Kyu plays Guk Young Soo, two men who take on the new job of criminal profiling in order to track down serial killers and psychopaths. In the new stills, Kim Nam Gil and Jin Sun Kyu have a deep conversation at a small open market bar. The setting and the characters’ styling are appropriately late ’90s vintage, as Guk Young Soo explains something with a gleam in his eye and Song Ha Young listens with a half-skeptical, half-intrigued expression.
Viewers can look forward to the two actors’ veteran acting skills and chemistry. Their expressions, gaze, and gestures show their characters’ long-time friendship and familiarity, while their complete immersion into their characters helps viewers immerse themselves in the late 1990s atmosphere.
The production staff stated, “In the drama, Kim Nam Gil plays Song Ha Young, the inspector of the Criminal Behavior Analysis team, and Jin Sun Kyu plays Guk Young Soo, the senior inspector on the same team. The two characters realize the importance of profiling and look into the minds of serial killers together. Both actors show powerful energy depending on the situation, as well as the naturalness of everyday life. Their amazing acting skills and chemistry will shine in the drama, so please look forward to it.”
“Those Who Read Hearts of Evil” will premiere after the end of “Now We Are Breaking Up” on January 14, 2022.
