Starting this week, “Dali and Cocky Prince” will officially be in the second half of the drama!
KBS 2TV’s “Dali and Cocky Prince” is a romantic comedy starring Kim Min Jae as Jin Mu Hak, a man who lacks schooling and book smarts but is extremely resourceful and talented at making a living, and Park Gyu Young as Kim Dal Li, a woman who is intellectually polished and comes from an elite background but doesn’t know how to take care of herself.
The first 10 episodes focused on Jin Mu Hak and Kim Dal Li’s relationship as creditor and debtor for the latter’s art gallery. As the story progresses, viewers will be able to watch the couple’s budding romance, as well as the various secrets surrounding the art gallery. Here are three key points to look forward to heading into the drama’s second half!
After Jin Mu Hak and Kim Dal Li first meet in the Netherlands, Dal Li shows warm hospitality to Mu Hak when he has nowhere else to go, causing him to start to fall for her. He feels too much regret to part ways with her, so he gets her a designer watch, indirectly confessing his feelings. Later, he reunites with Dal Li as creditor and debtor when he invests 2 billion won (approximately $1.7 million) in her art gallery. Although the two clash as they run the gallery together, they’re also able to bridge the gap in their relationship as a result.
Most notably in episode 10, the two are both able to confirm their feelings for each other, making viewers’ hearts flutter. However, the whereabouts of the watch, which symbolizes Mu Hak’s first confession to Dal Li, are not yet known, making viewers curious as to whether Jin Mu Hak will end up recovering it. Additionally, viewers will find out whether Mu Hak will get back the 2 billion won he invested into the gallery.
In addition to Mu Hak and Dal Li’s love story, the relationships of those around them will also be a key point to the drama’s second half. Dal Li’s ex-boyfriend Jang Tae Jin (Kwon Yool) blatantly sees Jin Mu Hak as a rival. On top of that, Ahn Chak Hee (Yeonwoo), who has an unusual relationship with Mu Hak, ends up visiting his house uninvited. Stay tuned to see how all their ambiguous relationships unfold!
Other questions to be answered include the truth behind Dal Li’s father Kim Nak Chun’s death (Jang Kwang) and the many associated secrets. Her father’s sudden death makes Dal Li the Cheongsong Art Gallery’s new director overnight, causing her to experience numerous hardships. However, his death alone is not what’s causing her worry, as numerous other secrets have been hinted at.
There are also concerns about whether Dal Li will be able to protect the gallery, especially from her cousin Kim Si Hyun (Lee Jae Woo) who thinks of Dal Li as an eyesore. He once threatened her saying, “Go back to where you were,” but shocked viewers when it was revealed that he was looking for drugs. As various dark secrets surrounding Dal Li and her family are slowly brought to light, viewers will be able to find out what other hurtful truths await her and how she’ll be able to overcome them.
In Episode 10, Mu Hak and Dal Li learn that the art gallery’s neighboring land is for the Green Belt development and that many powerful authorities, including Mu Hak’s company DonDon F&B, are aiding the project.
In order to protect the art gallery, Mu Hak shares information with Dal Li about the Cheongsong Art Gallery’s Green Belt project, which DonDon F&B depends on. Using that information from Mu Hak as a foundation, Dal Li creates a national petition to stop the development. However, that’s when it’s revealed that behind the development is none other than her ex-boyfriend Tae Jin. Will Jin Mu Hak and Kim Dal Li be able to combine forces, stop the Green Belt development, and protect the art gallery?
