1. Hwayugi
Like Hotel Del Luna, Hwayugi is a film penned by the Hong Sisters, inspired by the classic Chinese novel "Journey to the West". The film that marks the return of Lee Seung Gi after leaving the army with a cast of stars is equally impressive Oh Yeon Seo, Lee Hong Ki (FTISLAND), Cha Seung Won, Lee El, Lee Se Young
In 2017, Son Oh Gong and Ma Wang are in conflict with each other as they look for a true light in a dark world where evil thrives. Having made a contract with Seon Mi 25 years ago, entitling her to seek help from Son Oh Gong whenever she calls him in exchange for letting him free, the two meet again in a fateful encounter. From there, Son Oh Gong is bound to his protective role towards Seon Mi, the little girl he had met years ago.
Not only attracted by the cast or compelling content, this film also creates an enchanting, magical magical world where painful social issues are subtly integrated into each film-like story. like Hotel Del Luna did.
Another rom-com drama full of romance but no less horror that you should not ignore anymore is Let’s Fight Ghost. The drama is about Bong Pal (Taecyeon) - a college student who is able to talk to ghosts and use this ability to make a living. Once while practicing, he met a female ghost named Kim Hyun Ji (Kim So Hyun) stayed in the world to learn about his death.
The two help other ghosts solve problems in this life and peacefully travel to the afterlife like Man Wol and Chan Sung did in Hotel Del Luna. Finally between the two of them, one person a ghost, arose a bad love story, but it was not funny but full of romance.
Arang and the Magistrate is also a fantastic drama to watch about people who have the strange ability to see ghosts and their lives. Kim Eun Oh (Lee Joon Gi) is a man who can see ghosts and is looking forward to finding his missing mother. He always pretends to hide his special ability so that he won't be bothered by ghosts until Arang (Shin Min Ah). Arang is a ghost who has lost memories of his death but is wearing a hairpin he gave his mother before she disappeared.
Kim Eun Oh was forced to find ways to regain memories of Arang in order to find the whereabouts of his mother. In the process, between them arose a beautiful love and humor despite belonging to two different worlds. As a fan of Ma Go in Hotel Del Luna, you definitely cannot miss this drama. Because here, there is no one but many gods from Heaven to Hell will take turns bringing exciting and equally magical moments of life and death.
4. Master’s Sun
Master’s Sun was once a hugely popular movie that also took on the topic of ghost-related fantasies. Every time Gong Shil touched Joong Won, the ghosts around her began to vanish and fortunes came to Joong Won. Because of this, Joong Won kept her by his side and the two gradually changed themselves more and better.
My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho is also a film written by the screenwriter duo Hong Sisters that had a fever in 2008. The film is about a nine-tailed fox named Mi Ho (Shin Min Ah) who was accidentally saved by Cha Dae Woong (Lee Seung Gi) after a thousand years. She followed Dea Woong in search of a chance to become a person but then they both began to develop a strange and romantic love.
6. Goblin
Referring to the fantasy series, it is impossible to ignore the blockbuster that caused Asian fever in 2016 Goblin. This movie also has many similarities with Hotel Del Luna when exploiting the life of an ogre living through the centuries Kim Shin (Gong Yoo). Kim Shin must wait for his designated bride of destiny to come to free his immortal life.
Kim Shin was once an unbeatable general in Goryeo's military who died a tragic death. He now possesses immortality but is tired of living whilst everyone else around him dies. For 900 years, Kim Shin has searched for his bride, a mortal who can pull out the sword and end his life.
