[C-Drama]: Go Go Squid! premieres Jul 9 starring Yang Zi and Li Xian

The 44-episode series is based on the novel of the same name by Mo Bao Fei Bao 墨宝非宝. It is about a 19-year-old girl named Tong Nian, portrayed by Ashes of Love star Yang Zi, who loves to cover songs online. Tong Nian loves anime, loves to cosplay and become quite famous for it. Aww, I already love her!

Her adventure begins as she falls in love with the handsome Han Shangyan, played by the charming Li Xian who has received so much love for his role in Tientsin Mystic. But it seems like the feeling isn't mutual since Li Xian's character is an unreachable genius and legendary e-sports gamer (a hot combination!) who is oblivious to girls. Uh-oh! Sounds like another female protagonist is in need of strong wooing skills to win over the man.

I'll make sure to add this to my growing pile of to-be-watched list because an otaku plus an e-sports gamer has no doubt piqued my interest. Well, that and the knowledge that A Love So Beautiful alumnus, Hu Yitian will be joining in as a guest star. Hmm, now my curiosity is at its highest level! I wonder if he's there for a cutesy love triangle or perhaps just as a friend? Well, the only way to find out is to watch the series as soon as it airs! It also stars Lee Hong-chi, Li Zefeng, Xu Lexiao, Yu Chengen, Wang Zhener, Jiang Peiyao and Wang Lejun.
